Embedded in their story about the robbery last week, they had a slide-scroll pentaptych--four surveillance images and a police sketch--of the woman who police say distracted a gallery employee while her two cronies came in and lifted the works off the wall. Small version (so it fits here): And here's a sextaptych (can that please be a word?) of the cronies in action: (Follow this link and you can see these better.) Meanwhile, P-I art critic Regina Hackett, over on her blog,...

No, "sextaptych" can't be a word. Pentaptych is penta- (five) + -ptych (fold), both Greek parts (and sex- is Latin). The Greek-origin prefix for six is hexa-, so the word would be "hexaptych." I know, not as funny-sounding. Sorry.

Too bad about the Picassos, but that guy produced so much work, what's a few lost sketches?

What did they do when they recognized her? Did someone approach her or did they catch her or just let her go? If they didn't get her it's kind of stupid to publicize that they recognized her. Now she knows the heat is on and may figure out how to beat it.
