Woooooooooooooooooooo! No more of that asshole posting Dan's old pro-war article every time Dan posts anything. It is SO annoying to have to scroll down past that.

Why do you hate Puppets so?

I mean, a bunch of my friends make Giant Puppets for a lot of the parades around here ...

... nah, good idea.

Nicely done. Slog remains my favorite place to hang out.

No puppetry of any kind? I was just going to start a "Being John Malkovich" string.

Qvestion: Never censor based on ideology? What if the ideology is itself threatening and defamatory, as seems to be the case with most anti-gay factions?

Answer: We'll have to judge that type of comment case by case. We're more worried about squashing personal threats than hate speech. Of course we're anti-hate, but those types of people (thankfully very rare on Slog) usually get slaughtered by other commenters pretty damned quickly and sufficiently.

If you ever do Freaky Friday again, I'm going to break out my ACTUAL sock puppets. Philosophical puppets.

See, one puppet says to the other puppet, "you know, I'm beginning to wonder whether there even is a hand".

So then, if a clique of haters all get together and collectively e-mail you asking to Ban Gomez and Delete His Comments, per this policy, they get an audience.

And yes, this has happened to me before.

I think you have history on your side here, Gomez. I don't think the commenters would have it anyways.

Gomez, Did you read the policy? Only if your comments violated one of those rules (spam, off topic, threatening, or impersonation) would we remove them.

A key issue is the vague term 'threatening', which needs to be more sharply defined. Someone can take another's tone and choose to interpret it as 'threatening'.

Otherwise, it looks okay so far.

one word - good old - recycled thru the ages non stop by the rule makers - orthodox

yes, at the Stranger - wow

this slog is largely a chorus of fans - some humor, little sarcasm and little parody - often, lots of wit, more me too

join the fan club or go elsewhere, since real issues discussions are not really wanted, just more gabble about porn, city hall gossip and some obscure twist on elections

the best era for slog was during the viaduct debate - some great threads - and NO regulations, geez - how can that be?

nanny says need lots of rules or free speech can't work

yuk (and yes, Essex is a handle, and nom de plume will be next)

this seems flexible enough. i don't envey you having to go through all the comments and deciding what has to go though.
