On the day word comes out of his re-signing with the Mariners, Ichiro went 3-3 and hit the first inside the park homerun in All-Star Game history. Oh, and he was named MVP of the game too.

Enjoy that 2008 Chevy Tahoe Hybrid, Ichiro. Way to put on a show.

it would have been even better if he ruined ray fosse's announcing career as an homage to pete rose.

Between Ichiro's MVP day, his re-signing, word of Adam Jones getting the callup to play right field... today was one of the best days yet this season!

"Chevy piece of crap. Give me a Lexus!"

Chevy Tahoe hybrid? Dear God! America is doomed.

at the 1 am broadcast espn news spliced a knife commercial over the replay of Ichiro's home run and spent the next twenty minutes talking about Barry Bonds.

Ichiro basically said he was staying with seattle this morning. was he planning on this?

Being back in the midwest, I was swelling with Seattle pride.

By the way, it's way hotter here, quit yer bitching.

U.S.S. Mariner said it best: "As a lifelong Mariner fan, Iím used to finding a pot of crap at the end of the rainbow. I like this better."

When I read the news about Ichiro re-signing I jumped out of my chair. When I saw him hit that inside the freaking park home run, the one where he basically trotted the bases, I hit my head on the ceiling.

Fuck yes.

I loved that Griffey threw A-Rod out at the plate. And now the Mariners will have home field advantage for the October Classic. Fun game last night!

The Mariners still need to make the playoffs...they are 2nd in the wildcard race atm

Anyone else think sportscasting reached a new low last night? That woman announcer (Jeanne Zelasko sp?) makes me cringe. And they almost missed covering
Ichiro's inside-the-parker because they were so infatuated with Eric Byrnes' dog
swimming around in the cove.

The announcers never shutting the fuck up about Barry Bonds made me want to DESTROY over the course of most of the evening. The other part of the evening was spent listening to Tim McCarver speaking in AUTOMATIC ENGLISH.
