yes but also remember that that was a reporter from the guardian who got that footage and submitted that report. us tv is getting better that they can air stuff like that, no doubt. there's nothing surprising in that video, but it's better than most american reporters produce.

This is a disaster on so many levels. One soldier talks about being on constant alert, that his body never gets to relax. These people are going to come back with PTSD, I only hope that the VA is ready with adequate treatment providers and facilities to deal with the aftermath. I am a therapist who has worked with families after their dad returns, men who can't drive because they flashback while on the street and try to drive into other cars. I really hope that the VA can handle it, somehow I doubt it.

@3: The VA, ready to handle returning PTSD cases? I find that... Unlikely. Besides which, the average person of a military mindset isn't willing to have a conversation with a therapist anyway.

@4, Yeah, people with a "military mindset" they're just subhuman, not a sensitive person like you.

mike, he didn't imply subhuman.

If you or I witnessed those types atrocities, it's doubtful we'd be willing to recount them.

Meanwhile, we'll wait with baited breath for someone from congress to do a 15-month rotation. I nominate McCain.

Good catch Charles. Jesus, what an astonishing fiasco. Welcome to Empire Decline, America. And Iraq-- what can we say? Sorry about your country.

@7 you need to read the statement at 4 again.

"Besides which, the average person of a military mindset isn't willing to have a conversation with a therapist anyway."

To imply that there is some kind of universal mind set of all the people who serve in the military, or even an "average" mind set is absurd. What next? Average Jewish mind set wants to take your money, average Irish mindset wants to get drunk, average african american mindset wants to wear loose fitting shoes? All these ideas are absurd and do a disservice to the people they are about.
