Fuck yes! Phil Hartman was one of the finest comedic minds of the 20th Century, and every time I see Troy McClure on The Simpsons, I'm reminded of Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer, Frank Sinatra, and all of his other brilliant roles. Neither Lovitz nor Andy Dick can hold a candle to him, but at least Lovitz has the balls to recognize his genius and defend his memory.

Of course, since Andy Dick is a tremendous masochist, he may have been asking for it.

As much as I hate Andy Dick, Jon Lovitz is
kind of a douchebag too. Subway anyone? Eat Fresh!

Phil Hartman was the best of all three. I guess if you are resorting to making fun of murdered dead comedians you must be lacking for material.

Read the article. Dick wasn't making fun of a murdered dead comedian. It was worse than that. He's a very appropriately named fellow, Mr. Dick.

Andy Dick was funny in Newsradio (a wonderful show), but overall, he seems like a completely horrible human being.

I am Jon Lovitz-neutral. He had some good moments on SNL, but overall he's just sort of okay.

I was at a club in Hollywood to play a gig a long time ago and I went out to the van to get some gear. There in the shadows was Andy Dick barfing in the parking lot. After he wiped his mouth he said "Hey" and give a friendly nod. I thought that was thoughtful.

Andy Dick was also great on the Ben Stiller Show and several movies. He is pretty good when he has a script, but as an improv actor and human being he sucks.

In brief, to what Fnarf alluded, Dick reintroduced Hartman's wife to drugs after she had been sober for 10 years. Phil was furious. Several months later, Phil and wife are murdered by wife in drug psychosis.

Andy Dick was a bit unapologetic about how he influenced that tragedy, to say the least.

I didn't know about this until very recently. I feel really guilty for defending Andy Dick now. This story has ruined him for me, which is all for the better.

Didn't Dick refer to putting the 'Hartman hex' on Lovitz? What a piece-of-shit thing to say to someone. Like @10, decent with a script, generally worthless on his own.
