My guess is that it's regarding this one: http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/GetOut?restaurant=140725.

"I've been there at least once when there was a newspaper reviewer on hand, and the owners and employees were shitting themselves to fawn over the reviewer..."

Sounds like a major violation of the food reviewer's code of conduct. Maybe The Stranger is going after a corrupt journalist.

On, conversely, they're going after a restaurant that kissed their ass for a good review they didn't deserve and will look to make a more covert follow up visit.

No, actually, they probably really dig the reviews by Kinkos and want to formally bring em in.

Either the Stranger's own Bethany Jean Clement or David Schmader had their ass licked, or either it was Providence Cicero at The Times, since neither the Weekly nor the P-I has reviewed it. I won't hazard a guess as to who the reporter in Kinko's review is, but both Stranger reporters love the place more than anyone whose posted to SLOG.

After rereading Bethany's review, I am hazarding a guess that it is she who Kinkos' described. However, I am giving Bethany the benefit of the doubt that the owners of the Volunteer Park Cafe weren't fawning over her because she was a restaurant reviewer, but by considering the amount of food that Bethany describes, she must be now considered a regular at the VPC.

I have been to many places in Seattle where the staff spend a lot of time chatting up their regulars and all virtually ignoring their new customers.

Though I am curious how Kinkos knew the patron was a food reviewer or if it was just a guess.
