Nightlife Havana to Show Movies Outside All Summer Long

onWow, this looks like a ton of fun! Havana, the makers of the best mojito in town, have just announced that they will be starting to show movies outside in their illustrious parking lot every Wednesday until the end of August. Which means…you get to drink outside! They will have lawn chairs so you don’t have to sit on the ground while you watch these films (of course, when the DJs come on, the lawn chairs will move, and dancing will ensue).
Here’s the schedule of movies and their requisite DJs:
Wednesday, July 25 — SCARFACE (1983) with Soul One
Wednesday, August 1 — DOGTOWN AND Z BOYS (2001) with Sean Cee
Wednesday, August 8 — XANADU (1980) with El Toro
Wednesday, August 15 — BLOWUP (1966) with DJs of the Emerald City Soul Club
Wednesday, August 22 — GOODFELLAS (1990) with Cherry Canoe and very special guests
Classics, all of them. Seattle City Light is even going to come around every Wednesday and shut off the streetlight so that the parking lot will be completely dark. I’m personally excited for Blowup, a movie I’ve never been able to see all big and stuff. It’s $5 to get past the parking lot gate, and there’s free popcorn. The movies will show when it gets dark, between 9:30 and 10 pm.
Hey! Did you know about The Stranger’s new bar guide? You can find new bars and review your favorite watering holes from all over the city. Do it!

That is actually really wicked of Seattle City Light.
gotta be better than inside that bar. it smells like farts.
I love Havana, but their Mojito is hardly the best in town. Their other cocktails are much more likely to please.
boy oh boy, hope they get the requisite permission. some nasty fines and lawsuits otherwise.
Am I the only person in the world that fucking hates Blow up? ugh why would you want to see that...
#5: Yes, you are the only person who hates that movie. It's so good, and features one of my favorite scenes in any movie ever, A.K.A. the scene where the Yardbirds play and smash their guitars. It's the most realistic depiction of a rock show every in any movie ever (most of the people standing still and staring, the one couple hippie-dancing in the back--every show in seattle is like that).
ugh, I'll agree that its so good to fall asleeep too...
That's fantastic. I'll definitely be attending.
Well, am I the only one who wonders if they actually got permission from the city to serve alchohol in their parking lot?
c'est la vie.
yeyo!
Xanadu! I was only four when that movie came out, but I loved it so much and watched it so many times. That probably should have been my parents' first clue I was gay.
I'm disappointed that they aren't showing the new 4-hour cut of Caligula.
I'll settle for Xanadu (Olivia Newton John + ELO = transcendence).
I wonder if girls will be getting their wild on in the outdoor bathrooms??
Shooby.
