It begs the question, where did the Mars Hill story come from, and how did it manage to be credible enough to go in the paper?

The Stranger does "advocacy journalism" and so it doesn't need to make "corrections." The Stranger is _advocating_ so is exempt from the responsibility to be accurate.

In all seriousness, this claim of immunity from reality was offered to me by The Stranger -- I recollect it was Savage in an email --by way of explaining why it was totally ignoring "the Retrofit" of the Viaduct, (which is apparently the approach finally chosen by the State.)

Facts which do not fit with advocacy journalism do not exist because advocating the right things offers by itself an "immunity from reality." Sounds like GW Bush, no?
