Could we get the DC Madam a nice gift or something? I mean, it's only fair, since she's given us such a lovely present. It's not every day you get a GOP Senator's head on a plate.

I think pretty much all of the "family values" idiots are really saying "SAVE US FROM OURSELVES".

If Ken Hutcherson doesn't have nightly fantasies about sucking cock, then I will eat my hat.

Since he's catholic his backers are probably breathing a sigh of relief because this makes it extremely unlikely that he's been e-mailing pages about their penis size, unless you know, he's just into that sort of thing too. He kind of looks like he is.
Perhaps it was a form of symbolic expiation though. He found a whore named Katrina and fucked the hell out of her in order to metaphorically retaliate for the hurricane. Or more likely he fucked the hell out of a whore named Katrina because he was drunk and his god avenged his sin by smiting his peeps.

I hope you're using "whore" in the sex-positive sense there, kinaidos.

Why is this hypocricy not a bigger scandal? How do these guys always manage to somehow spin their hypocricy and obvious diningenuity into support for their original views?

@1 - Yeah, except this isn't his head on a plate. He'll probably get away with it, because the chicken shit TV media will "respect" his desire to keep the matter private and accept his bullshit repentance as genuine and certainly fail to mention the rank hypocrisies Dan points out in the post. Vitter will probably just keep spouting this "god forgives me" crap--and make his poor wife spout it too--until the whole thing blows over, which should take about 3 days.

Then he'll get re-elected in 2010 on some version of a family values platform.

Not that I'm cynical or anything.

But Dan, this is his private life. You see as a heterosexual white married Christian male he is entitled to a right to privacy. You could have it too provided you find Jesus, lose the cock, and marry a nice white woman.

The senatur loves his wife but likes havng his cake too. Some Americans have the Puritan ethik, cause peepel in positsion of powar to covur up. Onse Joseph got prawpositsioned by hooker in Dusseldorf. I said yes, but she take look at my skinny bodie, said 50% ekxtra charje cause my boniness jab her in pelvick area. Joseph dekline, file complainte.

@6 Oh, I dunno. Newt got run out of town, and Bob Livingstone got denied a leadership position because of his affair and then resigned. Helen Chenoweth didn't run for reelection, claiming to be honoring her term limits pledge, but considering the track record of those that made the pledge, it's a pretty convenient excuse. Gary Condit, Gary Hart, Dan Crane, Mel Reynolds, the list goes on and on, on both sides of the aisle, though Democrats are more forgiving. It's thee years til he campaigns again, but it won't surprise me if he decides to take a job with AEI or the like.

I think the nightly fantasy is SteveR's ... seeing himself sucking Rev. Ken's Big Old Footballer Dick ....

All this sanctimony about whore houses is silly .... go to one ... enjoy it ... go to another ... sexual liberation for all ... fuck the prudes, Democrat or Republican

Since he got hitched, Dan sounds positively heterosexual ... about as sexually liberated as his mom and dad ... I want to see Rev. Ken fucking this Seantor, who is from I think his home state ... on pay for view ... live from a whore house ... church benefit ... call in pledges

Freddy @16 - I don't think Dan was being puritanical, but was simply pointing out the rank hypocrisy of all these 'family values' types.

My reading of Dan's posts and columns suggests to me that he is still as disgustingly perverted as ever, praise Jebus.

Apparently he is against marriage altogether. Who cares whether straight or gay?... The idea of monogamy does not occur to him.

Praise Jebus.

Pushing his 50ies, Dan has discovered hypocrites ... of course ... only pointing out the most obvious, so old news. Churchies not on the straight and narrow?
Oh really.

Jebus said something about thine own house, did he not?

I'm pro-whore, pro-sex-worker, pro-escort, pro-fun. I'm anti assholes who want the rest of us to live one way -- no gay marriage, abstain until marriage, no abortion -- while they're violating their marriage vows with hookers.

And 50ies? I'm just 34, as it says in all the papers.

It's not every day you get a GOP Senator's head on a plate.

Actually, it kinda is. I've lost track of how many stories like this surface every month. And everyone continues to ignore them and vote on "morality issues" as if the Republicans actually represented them.

@20 Damn Mr. Savage, you're up early. I'm two time zones ahead of you and I'm barely conscious enough to write a blog comment.

From Wikipoodia:

In March 2007, Vitter announced his support for Rudy Giuliani's presidential bid. Vitter will serve as the southern regional chair of Giuliani's campaign.[9]

In announcing the endorsement, Vitter said "I believe the Republican Party needs to always be the party of free market economics and reform. Rudy implemented those principles as Mayor of New York by cutting taxes 23 times, making government more efficient and moving welfare recipients into jobs. It’s exactly the kind of conservative reform the federal government needs".[10]

"Obviously, I disagree with Rudy on some significant social issues, and these are very important to me and to many of the people I represent," Vitter said. However, after numerous meetings with Giuliani, Vitter said that "it's very clear to me that he's not running for president to advance any liberal social agenda."[11]

... violating their marriage vows ... huh?

Dan, who in the hell gives a shit? Marriage vows are meant to be broken, silly to start with, and just who goes to whore houses?

Old married guys, gay or straight.

I do not like anti- sex accusations, even against right wing idiots. I want a free love society, sex and more sex - for all.

I have worked as a hooker, and these old married guys, locked in a sour marriage, are to be pitied in many ways. And they tip well.

More sex, less right wing politics. Simple to me. And screw marriage entirely. The Trap from the religious past.

Silly gay boys, looking for benefits and a piece of paper, marriage will change little in your relationships.

But, the divorces will be fierce and funny.

@16 ... C'mon, Freddy. It's not the acts, it's the hypocrisy! Senator Whoever can bang every hooker in DC if he wants to. I just wish he'd shut the fuck up about everyone else's morality, or supposed lack thereof.

By the way, that was quite the vivid description of the Reverend's "Big Old Footballer Dick". You go!

Angel at 28: it's not that right-wingers shouldn't have the right to good, liberated sex lives, it's actually that they, like everyone, SHOULD have the right to good, liberated sex lives. This is precisely why they should stop singing the praises of "sexual morality" or the sacred, eternal bond of one man to one woman from the fucking mountaintops.

And as for gay marriage being systematically problematic as it is based off of the patriarchical, ancient, and thoroughly fucked up institution of straight marriage, I'd say you're spot on. I wish we could all move past marriage. But I gotta admit, even though I'd prefer there be no government recognized marriages (maybe have civil unions available to all, and let the marriage ceremonies be there own, separate thing if anyone wants 'em,) I'd rather see gays and straights have the right to marry rather than just straights. It's unduly exclusive and reflects our culture's stubborn homophobia.

If marriage vows weren't meant to be broken we wouldn't be taking them.
