Hello? Tyler? (like there's any man named Tyler that's NOT gay) This is Kharma. KHARMA. Yeah, I want to talk to you...
I'm surprised this didn't get slogged...
When will the conservative in-the-closet gay GOP US Senator from South Carolina be outed?
For some reason I despise when people say Mo's to refer to us queer's. For some reason it causes the same amount of hate for people that type wut instead of what.
One's sexual orientation may be private, but the incongruence between one's stated political views and the reality of one's life is not. The public has every right to know whether political activists are genuine or hypocrites, an the press has an obligation to out the hypocrites.
Hypocrisy should always be outed. Hypocrisy is both gender-neutral and sexual orientation-neutral.
Keep up the good work, Dan.
I don't have any sympathy for Tyler Whitney. We've all got mistakes in our past, but seriously: What. An. Asshole.
I came out when I was 18 and living in Arkansas, which is one step up from Poland in terms of GLBT acceptance. Psychologists have found that the more homophobic a person is, the more likely they are to have deeply repressed homosexual urges.
No one should ever fuck him until he issues an apology for his past (and current) support of right wing hate groups. I can't think of a worse punishment for an 18 year old.
Tyler also posts a lot of hateful stuff at FreeRepublic using the name 'kc8nsb'. This is not some self-hating guy as a lot of people mistakenly think. He is part of a new breed of conservative GOP gay who think nothing of picketing against filthy faggots who attack the sanctity of marriage ... and then rimming another dude later that night.
I am not kidding. These guys get a sense of power and self-worth by demonizing and ridiculing other gays (hello Matt Drudge). If anything, they think they are superior to others. It is a very sick deceptive condition and needs to be exposed more. I have no doubt he will continue on working for the anti-gay Right. And believe me, they will embrace him even more because this gives them cover for their hateful campaigns (eg "look, even a faggot disagrees with your nasty lifestyle so there").
Tyler's favorite bands (per his myspace page):
Charlie Daniels, The Rolling Stones, Alice Cooper, ZZ Top, Hank Jr, Coe
Worst. Gay. Ever.
Okay, closeted conservative faggots, face facts. There ain't gonna be no more Roy Cohns. No one is gonna maintain your closet for you if you're workinga against the gays. You're going to fuck someone who hates your politics, he's going to recognize you, and he's going to out you. You'll fucking deserve it too.
"One's sexual orientation may be private, but ..."
I never get this. Since when has what half of the human race you are attracted to ever been a private issue any more than skin color or height? Specific sexual acts you might like (eg Dick Morris and toe sucking) can be considered private, but certainly not sexual orientation.
If you notice, the Republicans keep perpetuating that myth while their own candidates flaunt their lovers and lifestyle first and foremost AS THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE. Talk about double standard.
Here's the schedule for Tyler's life for the next decade:
1 week from now: announces he is being admitted to the Ted Haggard School of Instant Heterosexuality
6 weeks from now: announces that he has been cured of his wicked faggotry.
1-2 years from now - gets busted for indecent exposure while giving blow jobs at a truck stop rest room. Goes back to the Ted Haggard School for relapse treatment.
10 years from now - writes a book about how he really is queer after all and has finally made peace with it.
And so it goes....
i have to strongly disagree, he probably just finished his first year in college still under the influence of his parent's ideology (his dad is a gop speech writer). still figuring himself out and now he is being descended on by the self-righteous for being a web tech.
i have no love for college republicans. i was protesting their affirmative action bake sales while most of you would have just walked by, but he's young and foolish and give him some breathing space to figure that out for himself. its not as easy as you might think to leave the conservative world view that he has been brought up in.
Maybe after he resigns in disgrace, he can be roomies with Mark Foley. These two were made for each other.
Providence: you left out the part where he gets strung out on meth...
Sorry j, but you're wrong. I agree that it's tough breaking with the ideology you were raised in (been there, done that, just like almost every other queer in the country). But he's led an active life of bashing his fellow queers in a twisted effort to make for or hide his own queerness. He deserves everything that's coming to him. If his life is ruined, let it be a lesson to all the other little closet cases out there.
Nope. Not buying that excuse. He wasn't innocently working as a quiet web-tech for a gay bashing Republican. He was a sign waving anti-gay activist.
He could have asked his dad for a cushy job with a more moderate Republican (I'm assuming his dad arranged his job). He could have just quietly done his job and not been an activist. There was no requirement for him to join an anti-gay student group.
Lots of closeted gays just do their job, even if it might not meet with the gay committee's approval, and keep their yap closed. It wouldn't be my choice, but I can sympathize with gays that make that choice.
But that isn't what Whitney did. He was actively and loudly protesting against gay rights and working against gay rights. He deserves to be outed. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever.
he's 18, what kind of active life is that? the fear and hate i see here is just as bad as when my parents took me to an Assemblies of God church. i don't know, but i would offer some compassion right now to the kid.
Out the bastard. The little shit should be dragged kicking and squealing from his padded red closet. Junior can hate himself all he wants, but once he starts spraying his execrate all over normal people, it's open season. Actions have consequences.
J @ 14,
I'm also calling bullshit on that. My dad was as rabid right as it gets (he regularly gave money to Focus on the [Aryan Nazi] Family even after I came out), yet I developed my own values system which includes you know, not bashing minorities. There's a sadistic, hateful streak at the core of the Republican Party, and this junior Karl Rove needs to be taken down a notch.
j @ #20: 18's fuckin' old.
Did anyone see the image posted in his comments?
josh @ 23: Not really. I didn't really grow a spine and get out from under the concept of what I was "supposed to be" until I was 20. And that was just peer pressure, not parental. Parents hold the pursestrings, and some parents are just really damn good at warping their children into little parrots.
I still think he should've been outed, but I think he's too young to predict whether or not that's going to end his hypocrisy, or make him embrace it all the more.
This is a simple question of mathematics. Take the number of times Tyler used the word "gay" as a derogatory or dismissive term for an object or person, and multiply it by the number of years he's been post-pubescent. The result will give you the number of times he deserves to be publicly "outed" at the age of 18.
Jean @ 25: Parents hold our pursestrings only as long as we let them.
It's important that the hypocrisy be exposed. Make your jokes, but Foley and Haggard had an effect on the election. We're preaching to the converted here, but there's a sizeable percentage of America that may not see the manipulative political power grab and realize that the far right doesn't believe what they're spewing and will say anything to get elected. And the mainstream media (esp ABC) seem to be fine with portraying Republicans as the religious party. Every chance to blow that out of the water needs to exploited. There is plenty of collateral damage with the political hate campaigns that the Repubs are running. God forbid the MSM do any work, but I would be shocked that crimes against minorities are not rising with this anti-immigration b.s.
Anyway, his life's not ruined, he'll be working under Karl Rove very soon I'm sure.
Jean @ 25: He's an adult, and has to take responsibility for his own life. If you lie down with dogs, you'll get fleas.
I have no sympathy for him at all. I doubt his daddy made him join in those protests, he was just trying to cover for himself, and make himself look cool to his retrograde buddies. Fuck him.
Seriously...anyone else know anything about @2?
People are making a big mistake thinking Tyler is just some mixed-up kid looking for his way in life. Believe me, he knows exactly what he is doing. He calls himself a "paleo-conservative". That is the exact same school of thought as openly gay Justin Raimondo. In 1994, Raimondo was openly gay and running Pat Buchanan's campaign office in SF. Tom Beddingfield is the same- openly gay and worked with anti-gay Pete Knight in California in support of anti-gay Prop 22 in California. Ken Mehlman, Matt Drudge, Mary Cheney, etc. The examples go on and on and on. These people aren't self-hating but instead think they are better than other gays.
One of his favourite films: American History X.
Did he dig it for its message or because he wanted Ed Norton's ersatz Nazi pecker (and who doesn't)?
No right-winger should be allowed to enjoy The Stones. They are not for you, mm-kay?
He's gonna have a hard time getting a date, that's for sure.
can you please get the outrage amped up about this story:
@27 -- Yup. Have you ever had to break those pursestrings? I haven't, thank god, but I have a friend who did. It took her a year to prepare to do it. She was 20 when she did it. He'd have to be an abnormally strong and confident 18 year old to do it, and his actions point out that he's obviously not.
@29 -- I agree that he has to take responsibility, hence, I think the outing was ok. I also doubt that his dad *made* him do stuff. I think he was, essentially, "brainwashed" as a kid. Being 18 and technically/ legally an adult doesn't mean that one has the mental capacity and character to make the difficult, smart choices that are obvious when you're 30. I have a little sympathy for him because I made stupid, stupid, self-destructive choices when I was 18-19, that I would never dream of making a few years down the road. When you're still that young and naive to the world, you're going to make mistakes. It doesn't mean you get out of suffering the consequences, but I do give a little sympathy/benefit of the doubt. If he's still pulling this BS when he's 25, though ...
J, giving the benefit of the doubt is a great way to promote stupidity.
Whether or not he is too ignorant to understand, he is being used to perpetuate hate. He needs to learn the hard way that what he is doing is far, far beyond unacceptable.
No sympathy for tools of hate. If he needs to learn, then let us and the rest of the world teach him.
Gomez @ 36, are you addressing that to me, or to j?
And where am I ever saying that he didn't get what he deserved, or what was done to him was wrong? Please point out where I'm saying he shouldn't be taught a lesson. Please. Otherwise, quit putting words in my mouth.
All I'm saying is give him his consequences for his actions, and don't try to give punishment for what you think he's like, and what you think he'll be like 10 years down the road. Punishing his actions is fair; punishing him because of one's concept of him is not. Some people have thrown out a concept of this guy and they don't know him. Maybe they're right, and he's an ass who'll never change. Maybe he's ignorant and weak and has yet to find the strength to change (and note that I'm not saying that he IS weak, just that he could be). If he is the latter, he doesn't deserve the shit that some people want to give him because they've convinced themselves that he's the former.
Please, spit roast him. If, at 18, he hasn't been taught that hypocripsy and hate are not admirable, worthy qualities, his ignorance will have afforded him ths opportunity, and his arrogance and cruelty will have earned him this incaranation. I find no solace in his situation, but he deserves it.
Oh fine already. Can we get an ass shot?
Someone's gonna have to fuck some sense into him.
Kids grow up faster than most older people want to admit. He knew exactly what he was doing, and made a conscious choice to be a Fred Phelps-ian, sign-waving hypocrite and work for someone with the same caustic beliefs.
I cut my parents' pursestrings at 18, and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. It's not that hard; you just have to be self-aware and not screw around too much. Kids are surrounded with information from birth and even if their parents overprotect, they will find a way to access the real world.
The idea of sympathy can only go so far for some hostile little punk. I'll think about feeling sorry for him when he fesses up to being an asshole & mends his ways.
To some--and I don't mean cannibals--"spit roasting" is a pleasurable activity. It's a pleasure that young Mr. Whitney doesn't deserve to experience until he mends his ways.
I can't argue that the kid deserved to be outed. I managed to stay safely closeted for 34 years by NOT being such a boob about it. (and 9 years of being OUT has been much better, btw.)
But worse than Tancredo's web master being gay is A NATIONAL CAMPAIGN USING AN 18 YEAR OLD. I'm a professional web designer, have been for 10 years. I wouldn't attempt a national campaign without a staff of at least six. And one of those six should be senior to ME. Using a kid shows Tancredo's campaign doesn't have a clue about the importance of a campaign web site.
Tyler scrubbed his MySpace page tonight. He removed a lot of offensive remarks from his racist buddies. But interestingly he left something even more damning. He now says something about now wanting to meet any political friends only honest people. The way he phrases it, it sounds like he thinks political folks are dishonest and deceiving. He seems to be making a direct swipe at Tancredo.
Also, of course he added one pic to his page. Take a wild guess which one? Yep, the one with his 'girlfriend', LOL.
LOL!.... i just wanted to stop by and laugh... this is funny... LOL!!... btw tyler, i could see why ur shamed to be homo.... i mean... what smart gay man would give you a chance anyways? you hate yourself as it is, lol... i dont even know u, but i just had to laugh... ty for being a flamer, gave my day some amusement
All anyone has to do is look at this photo of Whitney's bufu buddy Kyle Bristow (http://www.kylebristow.com/) to know he's as queer as a $3.00 bill. I'm afraid they were both covering for their sexuality by bashing gays by day -- and sodomizing each other at night.
I hope their parents think back on all the times the little sodomites were in each other's room with the door closed, and that the thought of their sons sodomizing each other keeps them awake at night.
And will they ever be sure that their sons aren't doing it with the men they work for? Could they be the catamite lovers of some older, wiser men who also lurk in closets and public restrooms?
Will their parents ever be sure? Is Tancredo the next Foley?
Why would anyone believe anything written by a hatemonger such as Dan Savage (not his real last name, btw) and who tried to infect Gary Bauer in Iowa by licking door knobs and such in failed attempts to give Bauer "diseases". Savage is ten years older than he claims (see, gays over 29 are considered "old"). Dan "Savage" is the real hatemonger who holds and applies standards to others that he doesn't hold to fellow liberals.
Dan is just jealous that he'll never get the chance to have sex with Whitney.
Here is Tyler's phone number and email address. Source is a publicly circulated press release from Nov, 2006. Give him a call and let him know what you think!!
Posting his phone number? That's wrong.
Who are you, Michelle Malkin?
I hope someone can please remove Andronicus' post. Putting up someone's contact information and then inviting people use it to harass said person is not cool.
Excellent thread. I totally agree with Savage's conclusion. This little monster deserves to be outted and FACE THE CONSEQUENCES of hypocrisy.
Excellent thread. I totally agree with Savage's conclusion. This little monster deserves to be outed and FACE THE CONSEQUENCES of hypocrisy.
Watch this Youtube video of an interview with Tyler's conservative buddy, Kyle Bristow in which he states that homosexuality "kills people worse than smoking" and "spreads horrible diseases":
These guys are the enemy, folks...Bristow's group at MSU is listed as an official Hate Group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
And some of you are queasy about my posting a phone number released publicly by Tyler himself ?
Good thing a Mark Foley was nipped in the bud.
Also, here is a cached copy of Tyler Whitney's Myspace page, before he scrubbed it. On it he identifies himself as a Right Wing Leader and states his orientation is straight.
To Andronicus #53.
Sure, they are the enemy. But isn't the WAY you fight a war as important as winning?
I'm telling you, calling this kid up and harrassing him doesn't do much for your credibility or solve the problem, but it might help you blow off some steam.
Thanks for the link. Interesting video.
Hmm, ..."I was watching a tv show...", do you mean the 700 Club?
Anyone else notice how faggy that dude's voice is? I don't think Tyler's the only secret pole-smoker.
Wow, little Tyler is not too bright posting to freerepublic with his ham radio callsign - any idiot knows that you have to keep your address up-to-date with the FCC. Why, anybody on the Internet could find out his home address with a couple of mouse clicks! What a schmoe.
Tyler, I have two words for you: Roy Cohn.
Tyler Whitney's Blogger profile:
Whitney pens an article describing himself as:
"A dedicated conservative activist"
When I wear my mom's panties and high heels it makes me feel like Ann Coulter. I always end up having to go to Sears to buy her new panties.
That video of Kyle Bristow is trippy. I'm about 96% sure he's gay. It comes accross pretty strong in the video with his affectations and different reaction to the topic. He face visibly blushes when the interviewer brings up "lbgt" and you can see what is going through Kyle's mind. Karma is such a sweet thing.
@48 That ain't right. It's fine to humiliate him in public and destroy his reputation, but at least leave the boy alone at home.
Looks like Tancredo told him to sweep his MySpace page clean. He carefully removed all the comments from his buddies (all kinds of racist and openly bigotted stuff along with stuff about literally killing liberals). He also added a single picture which hadn't been there ever before. It is of him with assumebly his 'girlfriend'. This guy has down all the GOP tricks down pat. The Right-Wing isn't going to drop him at all. Like Mary Cheney ("Kerry was a son-of-a-bitch for claiming I'm a lesbian") and Ken Mehlman, the GOP love their anti-gay gay operatives.
I hate to say it, but I hope the boy gets a taste of the AIDS. That more than anything will force him to face the hatemongers he has encouraged among his Right-Wing clique. As soon as he sero-converts, they will cut him off on the spot.
"But by eighteen you’re old enough to know better—if you’re 18 and gay in America, you’re old enough to know that you don’t have to live a lie. If you’re 18 and gay and not ready or willing to come out, you’re old enough to know that keeping your closeted mouth shut about gay issues is the option that doesn’t make you a flaming hypocrite."
Say, how old was Dan Savage when he came out? I heard he was a late bloomer, like John Aravosis.
How much this guy deserved to be outed is only part of the equation. At 18, being dragged from his homophobic little closet is likely to do him nothing but good in the long run.
For being a hatemonger, he deserves the discomfort and humiliation that being outed is causing him now. But as such a young man, he has a lot of time, potentially, to do good in the world, and for that he deserves the freedom that being out will give him going forward.
Oh, and also: what a bunch of fucking jackals in this thread. 48 and 66, I'm talking to you. Somebody, tell me again about hateful behavior masking repressed insecurities...
A post by this dude on RINOs: http://michiganyouthoffensive.blogspot.com/2006/08/rinos-go-down-walberg-knollenberg.html. Mentions homosexuals and heterosexuals.
Tyler can't be gay. Look at that tie, for jeebus' sake.
"For being a hatemonger, he deserves the discomfort and humiliation that being outed is causing him now."
I can't believe how deluded some of you are. And I'm on the same damn side. First off, he wasn't 'outed'. He had come out to his friends about two months ago. His female friend, the publicity chair of the college Republicans was the one who confirmed in the article that Tyler had told her as well as others that he is gay.
Secondly, he is not undergoing any kind of pain. In fact this is a thrill for him. His whole schtick to to fight so-called "faggy gay militants" and "special rights alternative lifestylers". If you check the web, the other hateful Republican gays have already championed him and come to his defense. He could be campaigning for Fred Phelps, and to his gay GOP buddies he would be still be a hero.
Thirdly, he is going to continue campaigning for anti-gay Tancredo stronger than ever. The media will provide him cover and he will build up his young Republican cred. He will hobknob with many gay Republicans both closeted and out. He will continue to rail against "dirty beaner illegals" and "shiftless Blacks who demand affirmative action". In other words, nothing will change unless the media highlights the hypocrisy of Tancredo. You can't claim to have a campaign powered by the sanctity of Jesus if in fact one of your premeier staffers is not just sinning, but actually embracing that sin and claiming it is normal. That defies logic.
I don't think for a minute any of this had been pleasurable to him.
This episode had not gone the way he anticipated, and I suspect he's going to end dejected and alone within 2 months. (But he'll have a lot more hate to cling on to.)
Yes, Tyler may be a hypocrite, but he's having his cake and eating it too. Growing up in a social circle where gays are demonized, he likely doesn't see himself as the morally depraved, child-molesting, left-leaning, club-going, E-using faggot with AIDS that social conservatives tend to think all homosexuals are . With all the knee-jerk reactions against gays around him, Tyler is free to blame out, liberal gays for any stigma conservatives assign to gays in general. Classic fields overseer/'house n-----'/Mary Cheney case. Mom and Dad couldn't be more pleased; little Tyler devotes his days to falling in line and being a role model for all those demonized, morally depraved he is most likely hooking up with on Manhunt every night (now that would be the profile to find).
I like how that Kyle Bristow fellow's webpage (resume page) gives him the title of "Defender of Western Civilization." I wonder whether the Pope or Parliament gave him that title.
Kyle Bristow and Tyler Whitney's MSU YAF recruitment video:
Mr. Whitney took down his comments on the myspace page....interesting.
Check out the Malkin clone there (Chenlyn or something, one of his friends), another immigrant who hates immigrants, islamofascists, you, me everyone. How can one be so self loathing?
Great work as usual, Dan. You are the shizznit!
His Wikipedia page that was created today by someone has already been taken down and blocked by that website. I certainly feel bad for an 18-year-old to have to deal with all this "national" attention. It would be overwelming for most. But in the interest of freedom and fairness it needed to be done. There are thousands more like him. I bet he is a victim of his upbringing. It would be interesting to see what his parents are like. He list his heroes as: "My Family."
NUmber 77 is a racist and apparently is quick to assume that a native-born American of any descent is a self-loathing someone who certainly must come from somewhere else.
lets nail the closet shut on this one, i don't want him ruining homosexuality.
"he likely doesn't see himself as the morally depraved, child-molesting, left-leaning, club-going, E-using faggot with AIDS."
So the solution is to work for someone like Tancredo who does? And then hold up placards that say "Faggotry" and "GO BACK IN THE CLOSET"? I think glbt people have a right to defend themselves from little quisling backstabbers.
When I wear my mom's panties and high heels it makes me feel like Ann Coulter. I always end up having to go to Sears to buy her new panties.
When I wear my mom's panties and high heels it makes me feel like Ann Coulter. I always end up having to go to Sears to buy her new panties...
HEY # 53:
go here: http://www.avert.org/worldstats.htm
and look at the number of people who have died from aids and the projected number of people who will die from it.
then go here: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/Factsheets/cig_smoking_mort.htm
and check out the number of deaths from tobacco.
the fact is, aids has and will kill more people than smoking. the largest percentage of aids deaths in developing countries is spread by homosexual contact. In Africa, its heterosexual contact.
its not racist or homophobic to state the facts, but there's no excuse for your ignorance.
"Although Shilts was applauded for bringing public attention to bear on gay civil-rights issues and the AIDS crisis, he was also harshly criticized (and spat upon in Castro Street) by some in the gay community for calling for the closure of gay bathhouses in San Francisco to slow the spread of AIDS. Shilts maintained his sense of integrity in spite of being called "a traitor to his own kind" by a fellow Bay Area journalist. In a note included in The Life and Times of Harvey Milk, Shilts expressed his view of a reporter's duty to rise above criticism:
I can only answer that I tried to tell the truth and, if not be objective, at least be fair; history is not served when reporters prize trepidation and propriety over the robust journalistic duty to tell the whole story.
Shilts was also criticized by some segments of the gay community on other issues, including his opposition to the controversial practice of outing prominent but closeted lesbians and gay men." - wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Shilts
aids could be elminated if everyone outside of monogamous relationships practiced safe sex, but that's just asking too much, isn't it??
and look at the number of people who have died from aids and the projected number of people who will die from it.
then go here: www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/Factsheets/cig_smoking_mort.htm
and check out the number of deaths from tobacco.
I just read on the Gist blog that this Tyler "kid" might be on some kind of mission to go against the gay community. So don't be fooled into thinking he's innocent!!
"I guarantee this kid has a lot more devious plans to spring in the future. He wants gay blood, and he will get it one way or another."
You heard it..the hateful fucker wants "gay blood", and unless you teach his kind a lesson you're allowing his gang to regroup and strike at you.
That's kind of like believing the Weekly World News' claim that angels are joining the fight against terrorism.
Travis reminds me of Pat Buchanan's claims of a meteor striking Orlando several years back. Just as credible, and just as likely.
uh, mikerzz?? who the heck are you and why the animosity towards that quote?
And do you have any argument to dispute it? (other than playing the Michelle Malkin's conspiracy theorist card)
For your interest, I posted this directly from Michelangelo Signorile's website. Go there, and you'll see it for yourself. There's many conservatives GOPers who hang around there and make similar posts to this all the time anyway, so it should not shock you.
Dan: I generally love your columns, even when you and I don't see eye-to-eye, at least there's a sense of humor under it. But I am really turned off by this one. There's something very unseemly about a grown man delighting in hurting a child. Really disappointing.
Um.. Kevin.. Tyler isn't a child.
He's an adult.
A very deluded one. Yes, from the way he carries on, he sure comes across like a child... a spoiled, bratty, obnoxious and cowardly bully of a child, but a child none the less.
But he's still an adult.
He can fight for whatever politician he wants, but sorry... when you're trying to hurt me and my family, I'm going to use whatever weapons I have, and if ruining his life is required, then that's what we'll all have to do.
Hey 85-89, AIDS is not a gay disease. So therefore homosexuality does not kill more people than smoking.
What a bunch of ghastly effete old fags Signorile and his Manhattan/San Francisco bunch must be. At their age they don't have enough sense or class to lay off an 18-year-old, and let him figure out his own life (no matter who he works for). He'd probably have developed into an open and out great ally in his own time. Who knows now? Silly doofuses. Creepy old bully vampires. If they had kids of their own, instead of dirty cat litter boxes in grim dim gay ghetto apartments, they'd know 18 year olds are still figuring out everything about life. I guess the Duke lacrosse case not going the way the ghetto gays wanted made them have to strike out at some other kid.
hey #95 - never said AIDS was only a gay disease. Much of it depends on what geographical area one lives. Remember the scare that AIDS would - en masse - infect hetero's the same as it does gays in the U.S. back in the late 1980's and 1990s. That didn't happen, did it? AIDS in Africa affects a huge hetero population. In the US, AIDS has killed more than smoking - DID YOU EVEN READ THE POST? (idiot!)
#94: "A very deluded one. Yes, from the way he carries on, he sure comes across like a child... a spoiled, bratty, obnoxious and cowardly bully of a child, but a child none the less."
so you resort to the same type of spoiled, bratty, obnoxious, cowardly bullying of that which you criticize? You're a pathetic individual.
#96: Joe T.: SPOT ON Brother, Amen!
You know, I see a lot of hateful comments up there, but two wrongs do NOT make a right. Sometimes I'm ashamed to be a part of this community, because sometimes we aren't any different than the people who it seems we are always fighting against. I've worked with MANY, MANY politicians from Georgia as I used to be involved with a gay rights organization there, and I learned that killing them with kindness, an setting the example for other people to follow is the way to go. Bashing a confused and scared 18 year old kid is NOT going to help us. It just brings us all down to their level.
From my perspective here it seems we would have to climb up to be at their level!
What kind of Stalinists have we become when we decide that just because someone is like us in so many ways he either votes with us politically, believes what we believe sexually, or is a traitor or an Uncle Tom?
"Every year, smoking kills more than 276,000 men and 142,000 women." (US) Linked above and does not include those that have died from second hand or fires related to smoking.
Numer of deaths from AIDS in North America = 18,000. Linked above.
All I can say about this is "OH WELL".
"More than 25 million people have died of AIDS since 1981.
Africa has 12 million AIDS orphans.
Adult AIDS deaths in 2006- estimate: 2.6 million"
WHAT are you talking about #101?
his phone number and email are easily found via Google search
this is not a case of digging up private info.
Surely there were gay hitler youth. This is nothing new. Wait, wasn't the pope a hitler youth? a proud tradtion continues. maybe we should expect to see Mr. Whitney in the future of politics.
We are talking about an 18 year old. What he did was/is stupidity. How many of us didn't overcompensate for being gay. I sure as hell did. Hopefully, the freedoms that he opposes will provide him the tools for a prosperous life. Leave the kid alone -- he was only channeling all his cock-sucking cravings into something acceptable to his father. The father, on the other hand, should be told "your son is a fag!" everytime anyone sees him. He is the monter.
Posting someone's private contact info is never, ever, ever cool. This isn't Malkin's site - and that it can be found via search engine is no excuse.
Can the webmaster delete comments? Those really have to go.
You sir are a guttersnipe. Your last name is fitting.
#14-18 I'm not so sure two protests can be called "making a life out of it." What you stated about his parents is totally inaccurate.
#19 Gay bashing is the Matthew Shepard situation, John Mangopolous and Fred Phelps.
Not gay bashing is Tom Tancredo and Pope Benedict. Someone who doesn't support gay marriage is not a "gay basher." If so, all of the Democrats running for President would be "gay bashers."
#26 Have you thought of being a Math professor?
#31 Right on!
#42 I've never heard someone talk so much about what they don't know.
#66 You are a peice of human debris! You should be ashamed of yourself for wishing that on someone, especially in this venue! Where is the outrage on here about that posting??
#72 Fred Phelps and Tom Tancredo are two different people.
#75 The Michigan Conservative Dossier bestowed that high honor upon Kyle Bristow.
#90 You are wrong.
I feel sorry for Tyler. I hope he gets his crap together. I am sure he has done a lot of self-loathing. It took me a long time to come out because homosexuality was something to be ashamed of. Kids these days are lucky that they have a world not as skewed from the truth of sexual orientation as the one when where I started out--one where homosexuality is not a taboo subject; one where there are gay people in everyday life, TV, news, the Internet.
It is only those who refuse science that will preach the hate-mongering of gays, promote creationism as science, and perpetuate false statements of lay-people as if they were real scholars, scientist & researchers. Still, maybe he can grow from this outing. Maybe we will realise his self-worth as a gay person. I don't understand drag queens, but I know they were some of the most vocal who fought for my rights (referring to Stonewall, etc.) before I was able to fight for myself. I don't like anyone who feels he or she is more superior than any one else, and I believe our constitution protects the rights of a minority from being decided by a majority, but that minority needs a voice. Kyle, stop hating yourself. Stop hating people who are different from you. Stop hating gays just because they are gay--hate things worth hating like injustice, lies, corruption in politics. Peace!
Cogito : I wouldn't blame religion for everything, though. Don't forget that the Communist/atheist governments were horribly homophobic as well as being the biggest mass murderers of the 20th Century.
I'm sorry but I can't but be more than a little disgusted by most of the comments on here. ESPECIALLY the poster who advocated Whitney contract HIV/AIDS! You are no better than those who are now using Young Mr. Whitney for their own political gain. Can you imagine what this kid's going through right now? Tons of young gay kids act the same way he does around their friends, laughing at the gay jokes and bashing right along with them, while hiding their true selves because they don't see it as "normal", and god knows there's almost nothing more important to teenagers (yes the kid is still a teenager, a kid, despite his being considered an adult by the govt.) than fitting in and being normal. You expected him, after living around the type of people he has (the arch-conservative speech writing father, the gay bashing friends, etc.), to just up and cut all ties to everything he's known? It takes time to break out of that mold, and his quietly coming out to friends indicates that maybe, just maybe, he was testing the waters to see how life is on the other side, to see if he could be happy if he we out or if he'd be miserable either way. So congratulate yourselves for showing the youngster that no matter if he's honest with himself or not, the best he can hope for is either a life of silent, two-faced suffering, or a life of bitterness, scorn, and loneliness. I won't excuse the kids behavior, and you all could've very well just said, I hope the kid gets some help because he obviously has some self-hate issues, but as usual with the generally bitter old queens who dominate the internet, you couldn't resist a chance to draw blood.
