Today, The Final Come On Downing!

posted by on June 15 at 11:09 AM

And goodbye, darling Bob.

Even right now maybe, just this very minute, Bob Barker is Bob Barkering for the very last time ever. He and his skinny skinny microphone retire today at last.

I remember watching Bob from my highchair at lunchtime, when his hair was still black as midnight coal, as I crammed the little square vegetables from my bowl of Campbell’s Vegetable Soup up my nose. I can’t say if I’ll miss old Bob, but I sure do miss cramming vegetables up my nose. You understand.

Oh, Bob Barker! The source of so much excitement! The father of so much adventure! Lest we forget…

What a sad day for TPIR fans! I almost wish they'd cancel the show before letting some tool like George Hamilton ruin it. There's a funny tribute to Bob here, including some more classic clips from the show:

Oh, Daniel.

"I'm gunna pump you GOOD!" Oh Bob. My entire high school used to watch TPIR every Wednesday morning. At least there'll be re-runs...

Never realized Bob could play a 'mo. No wonder I watched him since I was a little kid. Thanks, Bob. Enjoy your retirement!

ah! my sister went to same college as the second guy. she went on the show as well (all the claremont colleges have trips out to the price is right) and won a bunch of crap that is now sitting in our garage at home. we really didn't need a queen size bed, a trash compactor, or a surround sound system. they also make you pay the tax on anything you win! how balls is that?!

i think i may know the guy as well...

and didn't bob say he'll stay on if they don't find a good replacement?
