<description>Of three films I&apos;ve seen thus far (yes, I&apos;m the lightest SIFF lightweight... I just don&apos;t enjoy sitting, especially indoors on a sunny day)—all three rocked. The Canadian documentary about the work of industrial-waste photographer Edward Burtynsky, Manufactured Landscapes, was gorgeous and bleak at the same time. The film simply witnesses post-consumer waste and environmental devastation due to large-scale industry, and though it lacks a sermon or call to action, I left feeling ill at ease in the material world.
