Hmmm. Already decided Venus Velazquez will stir up city council and make it more like our city - and maybe give them some spine.
But interesting other comments ...
The at-large system doesn't work. We need Council members who are directly responsible to the neighborhoods. I'm sick of this shit.
Since when do we have primaries in August?
You guys should totally interview that cranky old fireman guy.
Well, technically, we have primaries in July, since that's when most of us vote Absentee, but they announce the results in August.
Does anybody know who this Bruce Harrell guy is? Has he done anything other than help corporate fat cats just get fatter? And wasn't his former law partner the guy who just got busted for brawling in court?!

There's apparently a lot of dirt out there on Harrell.
You just have to know where to look. ;)
I'm not sure what Venus would add to the current city council. She strikes me as an activist-type with no management experience and no history of bringing people together. I want to learn more about her, but I have concerns any candidate who only has experience pounding the drum. I've heard both Venus and Bruce speak--and leaning towards Bruce at this time.
Personally, I am profoundly disappointed by this year's crop of new council candidates - Venus is as divisive a person as we've had run for council - to put it mildly, she's not a people person (and that Money Tree gift really turns me off), Bruce seems to be a typical Seattle empty suit.
And as I've said before, someone better should be running against David "I'm not man enough to take the Chair of the Energy Committee" Della. Sigh....
