The Stranger De-Suggests:

posted by on June 4 at 13:44 PM

I’m soooo very sorry that I suggested:

Moscow Cats Theatre

(Feline Acrobatics) Most hotels won’t accommodate 35 cats, so everywhere this awesome traveling company goes, its animals stay in their own apartment. They wear bow ties and hats. They walk on tightropes, dance, and leap—little kitty gymnasts for a group of weirdo Russian clowns. There is also one dog, which is somehow depressing. (Seattle Repertory Theatre, 155 Mercer St, 443-2222. 1 and 5 pm, $49—$57.) ARI SPOOL

I was prompted by a comment on this post to investigate the performances lack of bowties and possible suckage. While sucking is relative, I can confirm that there were no bowties or hats on the cats this weekend. This is a vile disappointment, leaving me with no choice but to consider suicide and de-suggest the event.

I am so upset right now.

If I went and paid to see bowtie and hat wearing Russian acrobatic kitties my own fat-assed fly catchin Jabba the Cat make sure I came home to a houseplant massacre that'd make Hostel look like a Disney film.

PS, please don't tell him I called him "Jabba the Cat"

You suggested something that was $49—$57!?!?!?! That's 200 quarters that could be used at the Lusty Lady!

Say it to my face, jerk.

I thought Frizelle suggested it.

There should be a rule that only the person who suggested it in the first place can de-suggest it.

So we've got a clear line of culpability when it's time to cast blame.

While I love me some tightrope-walking kitties, $49 is a little steep.

being a person who is passionate about animal rights, this de-suggestion pleases me

In retrospect I think I was most horrified by the price of the tickets. And, really, what do you say to your boyfriend's MOM when she asks you how much you truly enjoyed her gift?

Sigh.

You know... I saw the kitties for free, and it did in fact still suck. Relatively hard. My partner had seen the show whilst in NY, where it apparently had a strange eastern european bizarreness that seemed to have been mainstreamed into straightforward lameness during this tour. Sad and disappointing.
