Oh, I see. Dan gets to bitch at fnarf about "how HARD it is to Slog and edit and write and put out fires" , but it's bad form for someone else to point out a very basic HTML coding error, which is something we do all the freaking time around here.

Just because you've given these folks carte-blanche to Slog today Dan, doesn't mean the rest of us aren't going to hold them to the same exacting standards we would for Stranger staffers - or did you really think, just because they've jumped the fence for a day that we'd give them the old, "kid gloves treatment"?

Sounds to me like somebody needs to take another bong hit...

Here you go (courtesy imdb.com):

"Later in his life, Alec Guinness always recalled the experience of making the [first Star Wars] movie as a bad one and consistently claimed that it was his idea to have his character killed in the first film, so he 'wouldn't have to carry on saying these rubbish lines.' He also recalled an occasion when he was confronted by a fan who claimed to have watched the film many times. He said that he asked the fan to do something for him, and that when the young man eagerly answered that he would do anything for Obi-Wan Kenobi, he said, 'I want you to promise me that you will never watch it again.'"

The Snowbirds have TWO last place teams to enjoy!

Yeah, the Rays need pitching big time. They win if their starters manage to have a non-harrowing start (or a COMPLETE GAME), and if -like vs. the Jays earlier this week- their bullpen doesn't have a nervous breakdown in the bottom of the ninth.

Anyhow, their offensive lineup if basically packed full of talent with a handful of these young guys becoming vets together on the same team over the last few years. I'd hate to see a team who's baffling-to-me ability to get stronger together through pummelment gets torn apart before they can (and inevitably WILL put a strong season together). I would condone, however, the M's picking up Carl Crawford if Ichiro leaves. Kinda.

Also, regarding the warning to stop filling your bird feeder, DON'T STOP. Just fucking clean it for christ sakes. You've become part of your little buddies' survival. Clean the fucking thing once in a while, gentle steward.

From the Dept. of Nat'l Resources:

"Spring is also a time when people find sick or dead birds at their feeders. The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources commonly receives reports of bird deaths in the spring and the usual cause is salmonellosis.
To reduce the spread of bacteria, clean feeders with a 10 percent bleach and water solution, rinse well, and dry. If you have been finding dead birds, don’t put the feeders back up for one to two weeks. This may force birds to move on to other areas, so they won’t concentrate in one location and spread disease.

When using feeders, the addition of more feeders may reduce crowding and minimize opportunity for interaction and contamination.
Other ways to prevent spread of disease include raking up waste seeds/droppings below the feeders, using feeders with smooth surfaces, and putting several large patio blocks under your bird feeder to make it easier to sweep up waste seed. Bird feeders with rough surfaces, cracks, or crevices are difficult to sanitize.
The salmonella strain usually found in birds may cause illness in people. This risk can be minimized, however, by following common sense precautions such as wearing rubber gloves when handling dead birds or droppings and washing hands afterwards in warm soapy water. Dead birds can be disposed of by burying them. Discourage pets from eating dead birds. Clean feeders in a bucket outside, rather than in the kitchen sink. And, seal waste seed and droppings in a plastic bag prior to putting in the trash."
