Show that picture to three eagle scouts and ask for bids. If you can't get something for under $15.00 I'll build one for you.
On the other hand, the trend in gas grills is that no one wants anything for under a couple of grand. So maybe if we pimped it out with photovoltaic linked to a flat screen teevee we could sell them to suburban soccer dads in Kirkland.
For the low, low price of just $250 you can get a solar beach tote that has a cigarette lighter plug in it. They say "charge your phone" but there must be some way to get some high-tech 12-volt cookery going.

Rain Monkey - who the hell can afford to drop a couple of grand for a gas grill!?! You can get plenty of grill for $300. Maybe $400.
And who are these soccer-people? And why does everyone hate soccer? I thought us Euro-loving liberals were supposed to hate football.
I'm confused.
I actually bought a Sun Oven. It was a little pricey.
I have baked a few things in it including Angel Food Cake and a Rhubarb pie. Here is a link to a review of the oven I posted a few weeks ago.
Um, for those to work you would need to live somewhere where the sun actually shines a lot, yes?
Yes! Like Seattle in the summer! Mmmm, solar-steamed clams...
When I was a small boy, I watched a science show for kids called Beekman's World (similar to Bill Nye the Science Guy). They did this same thing with an umbrella and some aluminum foil. Think about it: its a perfect trade. We don't need the umbrellas much in the summer, so we can just use them as our grill until the months where we have no sun to grill.
O-KAY! Rice in two hours (after you drive to Arizona) ... what more could be fairer?
My parents have been using one of those for years and years in Sacramento, and they make great food. We had meals from the solar oven many night a week in the summers. In Sacramento having a no-heat oven in the summer is an awesome thing.
I assume they would work for a shorter span of time here, but they should still work.
Yup, They've worked here for almost ten years. Mid April - Mid Sept.
Cooks like a crockpot on high.
Over 10,000 sold over the years.
