Homo Pride Parading

onYesterday I led a group of lesbian, bi, trans, and queer-friendly bellydancers and drummers in the parade downtown. Though we spent most of the route hurrying rather than dancing (it was hard to keep up with the motorized floats), we had a fantastic time and the spectators did too: All kinds of people were crowded on the sidewalks and exuberant despite a cold breeze and occasional sprinkles. It was a massive effort with plenty of witty costumes, performances, and floats (more than 150 groups rolled down Fourth Avenue for three hours or so) and from within at least, it looked to be Seattle’s best Pride Parade yet.
Go to Flickr for a ton of great photos of the parade.

We're you the belly dancer giving out crackers in the beer garden??
If so, you are a saint.
Who won The Stranger float contest?
The parade was mostly fun, but I could've done with fewer churches. Way to go with the belly-dancing, I have a few photos of y'all I need to get up on Flickr.
I was with the cracker-bearer... that's the fabulous Gigi!
I was the tall, very drunk, and very loud Rugby player.
On behalf of the Quake, we are in your debt.
You're welcome; I'm sure we'll have some use for a rugby team in the near future!

Dan is pissed at you because you left gaps in the Parade. Next time run a little faster so Dan can have fewer gaps.
I have to say, one of the best times I've had in a while. I was on the revival float.... little red booty shorts, black tank top, high socks. Amazing time, and thanks for the coverage because god knows I wasn't covering much!
