Nope, it's not. and worse, it's what the Christian dude wanted. You're following his agenda, not your own.

I'd feel bad for the guy if I had a soul. I do not. Go her.

Young and stupid she is. That is exactly what they want her to do. They want to be made into victims. They want to instigate confrontation. And they won.
During 2004 Gay Decadence in New Orleans I saw a husky anti-gay protester with a megaphone make his way into the very middle of the massive gay crowd chanting anti-gay rhetoric. He was pushed violently and drinks were thrown at him – some from as high as the balconies. He continued to stay in the middle and take the punishment with a sad look of face until the police escorted him out but somehow I could tell deep down inside he wanted to illicit this abuse on himself.
Shame on the young dyke! The biggest punishment for someone nobody on a “soapbox” is for everyone to simply ignore them.

FUCK!! That was the DUMBEST thing she could have done!!! That is what the extremist Christians want us to do!!! They will use that claiming that they were assulted by a lesbian!! Not only that, the guy who was slapped could have pressed charges.

As much as what they were yelling at the parade is wrong and sick they have a right to say it. (sorry but those are the breaks) And yeah, I will fight to the death my right to march in my Gay Pride Parade and I will fight to the death to protect the rights of the protesters to say what they want. It is called the US Constitution babe.

If she had really wanted to fuck with him, she should have hugged him.

It's tragic that she slapped him when there are so many guns available.

On a different note, I wish i had the balls to take part in something so inspiring.

Sigh. Not sure what the point of this comment is. I guess I'm just jealous reading Noel's account.

A fun visceral release, I'm sure, but a bad, bad idea. Ghandi and King won by being better than their oppressors. I'm sure it would have been fun to slap Bull Connor, but they knew it would have gotten them nowhere. What if next time everyone brought the evangelists muffins and juiceboxes?

If the opposite had occurred (the protester slapped the lesbian) the crowd would have called for his hanging. Hypocrisy is a funny thing.

Sometimes it's not about the political statement, it's about doing what you can be proud of yourself for.

I walked away from a situation like that once (not a religious guy, just a regular asshole), and I still feel bad that I didn't do or say a damn thing.

Fact is, the evangelicals are wrong. No, we shouldn't make our point by punching them out, but at least we feel so strongly that it is so difficult to walk away.

A little street justice every once in a while isn't necessarily a bad thing.

violence is never the answer.

use jesus agin' 'em & love your enemy. and make sure they know who's example you're following.

absent the diety thing, jesus was way cool. read the thomas jefferson bible or the gospel of thomas for more info.

the more you know...

I infinitely prefer to stand in front of them sucking face with the prettiest dyke I can find. A couple years ago it was a smokin' hot firefighter from SFD - she poured her water bottle down my cleavage (it was like 85 degrees), and we smooched right in front of the protesters. That makes their heads explode much better than whacking them. I generally am not in favor of making out with girls in front of straight guys - stupid straight porn has ruined that for everyone - but I'll make an exception in that case.

Sooo, did he, like, turn the other cheek, like Jeebuz commands?

Doesn't sound like it.

And anybody want to take bets that in 10 years the "victim" will be a bottom who's heavily into getting slapped on the cheek by his Dom?
