As a former high school theatre queen, I try to be sympathetic to amatuers, but that was really awful. It might have had something to do with the quality of the recording equipment, but there was some real caterwauling and bad direction at the root of it.
I never cared much for Godspell anyway.
We are not talking about the real problem with the video, THE KIDS ARE TUBS OF LARD!!!! MY GOD!!! Instead of Godspell they should be doing Sweating to the Oldies!!!!

Go ahead and cast fat kids if you want to, but pleeeease do not put the fattest of them all in a tight t-shirt. ecch.
If you REALLY want to see high-school theatre geeks geek out on a number from Godspell, complete with a drama queen that reminds me of myself back in the early 80's, check out this little gem. As a bonus, it was evidentially filmed entirely in a Wal-Mart parking lot (someplace I would never be caught dead in. I had standards, even then. I was strictly a Pamida boy)

Dan, I hope your son grows up to be as talented and handsome as you. Meantime, may I suggest school theatre is for the personal development of the kids. Even fat ones. It isn't about achievement in musical theatre. Ready to post your son's school pagent?
