Chicks with Swords? Thinly veiled transwoman fetishism?

Posted by Cook | June 13, 2007 5:12 PM

No, it's people who really like chicks with swords.

I married one. We both used to fence. I prefer a saber personally.

borrows on the good ebay musical ads and makes a better one

My question is "why do people use"

Posted by Fnarf | June 13, 2007 5:16 PM

I hear you, Fnarf. And I'm not asking shit without Jeeves up in here.

@6: lots of people. And even more are scared shitless of buying anything on "the intratubes", because Amazon is going to steal their credit card # and buy the good "chicks with swords" videos.

Nick @6: Many, many people have difficulty finding what they want on the web. And you might think you are a saavy searcher, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if you had difficulty if I threw out a sample of some tricky searches. I'm a librarian and every day I help out very bright folks who are having trouble finding and/or evaluating information on the web.

Fnarf@5: Every search engine has its strengths and weaknesses. Believe it or not, there is a world beyond Google. just unveiled a completely new version of their search engine, which is the reason for the ad campaign. I haven't looked at it in depth yet, but my initial impression is that I'm pretty impressed with it. There have been other search engines that uses indexing on the results page, but not quite to this extent. Even the image results are on the main results page. I think it's quite innovative.

Bitch is going to get a virus if he keeps looking at stuff like that.

I just really enjoyed "The Algorithm".

Chicks with sabers would have been an interesting twist!

Weirdly enough, I've read three blogs TODAY about this ad. Did it take a while for it to reach the country at large? I live in Detroit, and I've seen this ad for weeks -- long enough to be WAY sick of it.

I only saw it for the first time two nights ago. I don't watch a lot of TV, though, so maybe I missed it for a while.

Am I the only one thinking that a guy performing in a "musical theatre" song and dance extravaganza would actually be looking for GAY porn?

Re: Tom -
Yeah, but he's obviously afraid to admit it to himself; that's why he's looking for chicks with "swords".
