Interesting today's main stream papers present the NAACP-Urban League difference on the police chief as interesting because it involves two African American groups.

On this Slog when it was first reported it was said to be interesting because one group is the other's ....landlord, and that was why it was "awkward."

Can't we talk about race when it is obviously part of the story? don't we need a whole lot more talking about race in this community? In our nation?

Isn't the police misconduct also a potentially racial issue (because I ahven't heard of a case where the police plant drugs on white folks as often as black ones-- obvioulsy durg laws are disproportionately enforced resulting in massive disenfranchisement of African Americans). Is one of the two groups giving thee top cop a free pass?

This was not a landlord tenant dispute.
