Do they have a death penalty? Cause those a**holes need it. Preferably a very slow and painful death.

That last bit about the injections of blood sounds like hysterical bullshit. It could be true, but it just doesn't ring true.

Unfortunately, the bit about the blood injections is true. News about gays don't tend to be hysterically exaggerated in the Netherlands.

the interesting thing is that the guys can't be charged with attempted homocide (or an equivalent), because HIV is not longer considered a lethal disease. it is now considered a managable life-long disease.

@ 3, the article says nothing to support the allegations of blood injections - nothing about the victims having mysterious needle tracks or if that was something the accused have confessed. And I don't read this so much as news about gays as news about rape, an emotionally charged topic that can be exaggerated.

Again, not saying that it is exaggerated but I want supporting statements at the very least.

@4: Are you sure about that? I know that, as an HIV poz man, I am not able to purchase life insurance, because the insurance companies aren't on board with that thinking yet.

@6 It's gonna be a while before the life insurance companies do get on board. Life underwriters are incredibly conservative when it comes to reevaluating risk, and are super wary of anything that increases risk. If I tell one of my underwriters that someone has diabetes, which only lowers life expectancy by about ten years, they demand a foot high pile of doctor's reports, and only if things are fucking ideal will they even issue a policy, which a much higher price. If things aren't shiny, they'll decline without a second thought.

So, by my calculations, HIV+ people will be able to buy life insurance at exorbitant rates in a century.

I don't know if the thing about the injections are true, but if they didn't use condoms, that is just as bad.

Just as bad as what? Raping people?

This one ain't even a case of gay, straight, etc. These guys are violent sociopaths.

According to this article (in Dutch, so most of you will probably have to take my word for it) the men admitted to injecting their victims with their blood.

I'm surprised that we're finding out about this from ABC News-Australia. BBC and CNN haven't reported this yet?

Griet, I will take your word for it. The J, thanks for the translator but I kinda don't trust those things to be accurate...
