i stopped in at pony this afternoon, after lunch with mark mitchell @1, as fate would have it. marcus wilson gave me the full tour. i haven't seen so much cock at once since....well, since never.

pony is fantastic. it's dark, sleazy, and fun. it feels like an old school den of sin and it is as gay as the day is long. fag-o-rific.

i left, remembering visits to The Cock in NYC (before guiliani ruined everything), and wishing i was a gay man. pony is going to be the hottest clubhouse on the hill this summer.

Sorry guys, but this is hype for something a good gay neighborhood should already have, and have for years to come. Don't we deserve the most fag-o-rific bars on a permanent basis? It's about as patronising as opening up a soul food caf� in a Central District building slated for demo. One last hurrah! Then move out of the way, minorities.

But I wish Pony the best- I'll be on the dancefloor- and hopefully this cocksuckingly gay bar might find a permanent home.

DAMN!! I won't be able to go out and check out Pony until Friday night. (Have to work too early in the morning). But why didn't they open it up in a building that is going to be around for awhile? We seriously need some sexy gay clubs in Seattle with a little edge. (Sorry Purr is too...well pretty) And Pony sounds HOT!!!!

@4 I agree with you, but part of the charm of Pony is its pre-determined life span. Our neighborhood is being devoured and Pony just points out how much we're losing because of it.

That being said, I would love Marcus to be able to do his thing on an ongoing basis. Maybe this is a trial run, no?

And also somewhat on this topic, I've been enjoying all the new restaurants. I feel quite the hypocrite. But a well-fed one. Now, if they would all realize that interesting and nicely prepared food is important, but just as important is quality customer service. At two of the shiniest new spots on the Hill (I won't name names, but they both have 12th Avenue addresses) the service has been poor to mediocre. Come on people,customer service is vital.
