Gay Activist Leader: Gov. Gregoire

posted by on June 7 at 16:46 PM

Over at their web site, The Faith and Freedom Network (formerly Washington Evangelicals for Responsible Government), Washington’s very own conservative Christian activist group, had this to say about Gov. Gregoire’s proclamation about June as GLBT Pride month.

Here’s the crux of it:

The secularist left and the gay activists could not find a more true and faithful leader than Christine Gregoire.

One has to wonder if the Governor will proclaim next December as Christian Pride month with displays and endorsements or perhaps, since June, a month traditionally known for heterosexual marriages is now the annual gay pride plus month, perhaps July or August could be designated as heterosexual month.

It isn’t likely.

Oh, play that victim card some more, why dontcha? Everybody knows the poor, put-upon white, middle-class Christians are more discriminated against than anyone else. Poor them. Cry me a fucking river.

Hate to point it out to them, but pretty much EVERY month is Christian month, or Heterosexual month.

One might wonder how exactly Chris Gregoire is a "gay activist leader" when she was too chickenshit to even tell us her true position on marriage equality while the Supreme Court was debating (and subsequently upholding) our unconstitutional DOMA. Sure, she did the right thing by signing the domestic partnerships bill, but contrary to what this group in question might think Gregoire's signing of that bill was a moderate compromise on marriage equality. Still, were I a gay Democrat I'd feel more than a little cheated when our government couldn't pass true marriage equality when the party has total control of the legislative branch and the governor's mansion -- despite Senator Murray's best efforts, of course.

I used to complain when Mother's Day and Father's Day came around that there was no Kids' Day. Then I grew up.

I, as a gay Democrat, feel more than a little cheated by "the gay's best friend" governor. If she has a Dem challanger come next election I'm likely to vote for them, unless they suck.

Geni and Chris hit it right on the money. Christians already have their special days: Christmas and Easter. Plus Good Friday, if they're Catholic, and why not add Passover, too? (I'm sure Jesus would appreciate that.)

Christianity has descended to the level of sports fans, with a huge dollop of victim mentality on top of it. Loutish people, looking for a reason for how wasted their lives are, embrace this crap.

Besides, the Straight Pride Parade sucks even more than the gay one does.

July can be Heterosexual Pride Month. And then August can be White History Month, and November can be Men's History Month.

Celebrate all the oppressed peoples!
