I'm building a bar in my house, and the chance to score some inexpensive, used cool bar stuff (mini fridges, track lights, speakers) is tempting.

But, ugh. Everything in there has prolly been liberally splashed with the assorted body fluids of a hundred thousand hookers and their customers.

I went there once in high school since it was cheaper than a hotel. Ahh memories.

But yes, its gross.

Tubs is being replaced by the latest in the never ending boom of crackerbox apartment/condo blocks, the oldest of which already look like mouldering slums (south of 45th).

Thank god. That place has been an open sore on the lips of the University District since before the Rainbow closed down.

My friend X worked there for approx. two days, he walked in and was asked to clean the shit out of Room X, he went into Room X and found a steaming pile of human feces directly on the upward facing light and quit right then and there.

Good riddance. Tubs was disgusting, and when I was in college, there was this creepy old troll on gay.com all the time who always tried to talk me into going over there to get a "four handed massage" from his and his equally creepy boyfriend.

As I've said before, even the name is vomit worthy.

There was a thread about TUBS on the Slog not too long ago... I hope the girl who enjoyed eating Taco Bell burritos while soaking is doing okay. Where will she eat now??

i went to tubs once, only once, to see what it was. the lobby alone freaked me out enough so that i never returned.

I went to Tubs once when I was engaged to my ex-wife.

never went there, or had the inclination but i know people who have gone there and said it was clean and they had a good time...

i think it's a shame when 'alternative' businesses close...even if it's a place i have no desire to go to...in today's irritating moral climate, you can't just open a sexually oriented business anywhere you want...and sadly, they're always replaced by something banal like a fucking condo, copy shop or dry cleaner..

Tubs was a relaxing enjoyable retreat from people with aberrant minds.

What are you disgusting people talking about? TUBS was a very clean, fabulous place to tan. I loved the Andes mint that were provided in every tanning room. Meticulously clean tanning facilities and very friendly people.

I'll miss this unique establishment.
