No, you're missing the point: he may not have been able to stop her, even if he was fighting. It's pretty hard to shove a bottle up someone's ass, but if some guy knocked you down and did that to you the assumption would be that you couldn't stop him. But you don't apply that assumption to this case because the attacker was a woman, and that's where you're allowing unfounded prejudice to shape your perception. She could have done this to him-- and evidently did --totally against his will.
