There is a little thrift store on Lower Queen Anne that has TONS of postcards, used and unused. Even better, the woman who runs it is super sweet and you pay what you think is fair.

Mudede must be positively salivating over that daring and bold architecture.

I'm sure it's relevant to somebody.

Ah'ma check that out, Ari. I HATE people who think every god damn piece of crap in the world is a "collectible" and ought to be worth a bundle of dough. There are postcards that go for a lot of money, but most of them should be a nickel. Especially if you're going to make me go through them.

Did you happen to visit and get any postcards from Bialystok ?

Part of my family came from there.

I lived in West Berlin in 89 and 90, and traveled all over behind the Iron Curtain. I have tons of crazy ass postcards like this -- I love 'em. Never thought to have 'em scanned and share 'em, though... but I will...

Fnarf, have I got the book for you! It's called "Pogoda ładna", and it's very much in the vein of the Boring postcards series. I ordered a copy from this Polish site: http://www.empik.com/showobject.jsp?objectId=2420149¤tCategory=1241300

Holy crap, I'm drunk! I mean, I want that book. How much is a zloty?

From http://xe.net/ucc it looks like the zloty is about 35c, so the book is about $15.50. I also paid about that in shipping, I think, so it'd run you about $30 or so (and a couple weeks of waiting) in the end. There's a link to a guide to order in English at the bottom of the Empik page.

Fnarf has the housing and transportation solution right in front of your faces and all you can talk about is boring postcards (Langweilige-Postkarten)

Look at the pictures. No traffic and tons of affordable housing and... no viaducts.

ECB/Josh Fnarf has shown you heaven - even better than Milwaukee. Bet they even have dumpy bars.

I have partied in at least two of the buildings in the Wroclaw postcard and the one in Boleslawiec!

Hurrah!
