Blatherwatch All Over Mike Webb

posted by on June 29 at 11:57 AM

Er… sorry. That sounds gross considering, huh? Anyway, Blatherwatch—which used to battle with Webb—is closely monitoring developments. To recap: Disgraced talker Mike Webb went missing in May; today a body was discovered in his home. And it looks like it may have been murder.

Wish it was Dori Monson.

Dori is most definitely an annoying toad and an intellectual lightweight, but come on...

Over the past several years, the dude has gleefully celebrated the death of Rachel Corrie, so Dori Monson is fair game to me.

Wow... Webb's property manager (who found the body) wrote a long letter to King 5 explaining the story.

I don't really know who Webb is, but this story is a head scratcher.

To quote that cinematic gem, Plan 9 From Outer Space... "There's been a murder... and someone's responsible!"

The question is, did somebody write a Wikipedia entry before they found the body??

I'm thinking one of the "unusual items" in the crawl space will be the Brady Bunch tiki idol.

Mike was a good friend back when I produced his daily talk show for GAYBC radio (1999-2000). He was bright, funny, politically astute and very talented. He was also a complicated guy: a liberal who owned a handgun, a public figure who did everything in his power to suppress the publication of any pictures of him, and a champion of the wronged who was often embroiled in battles himself, both with the law and with his ex-employers. But despite any bad choices he might have made in his life, Mike was above all else a good person and a great fighter for GLBT rights. He'll be missed.

Also among his contradictions: he was instrumental in removing the union representation from KIRO's employees.

I was deeply saddened to hear of this troubled man's death. Mike was annoying but very entertaining. If he could speak to us today, he would bring a completely different message. And oh, how he wishes that he could deliver that message. Mike has discovered the truth. Sadly, the Truth can no longer set him free.

I predict Mike Webb's killer will be a gay man who knew him well enough to be invited to his house. After killing Webb the murderer most likely hid the body, cleaned the blood evidence, left town for a while to establish an alibi. The killer will lead police to the corpse by "discovering" the body in the house.
