So The Stranger's outsourcing its movie reviews to us hardworking slog commenters now, huh?

It is fake. The movie does not and will not exist.

Ahh, fake. Good. I was thinking it was straight to video, erm, DVD. And then I was fretting about Ewan McGregor and Penelope Cruz being in a straight to DVD movie.

When some friends I and first saw the ad we assumed it had to be fake.
We instead soon found out that Obi-Wan and Miss Cruz portray members of an EU superteam deployed to stop a US/North Korea war. The US is apparently portrayed as being run by an irresponsible warmonger. So the movie is trying to turn the meaning of the patriotic jingoism inside out.

It's a little like that Niger yellow cake story -- it started as joke, but the Bush team believed it. Look out, world! January 2009 is a ways off yet.
