Wolfowitz Is Out

posted by on May 17 at 15:32 PM

He’ll resign as president of the World Bank, effective June 30.

Meanwhile, in the senate, top Democrats, including Sen. Charles Schumer, are seeking a no-confidence vote on Gonzales.

“We need an attorney general who is a prosecutor, not a puppet,” said Mr. Schumer, who has been one of Mr. Gonzales’s sternest critics.

Wonkette’s prediction? Gonzales will resign and be appointed by Bush as the new president of the World Bank.

One down.

Now on to Gonzo, Rove...

Good to see a little karma coming back around to this white house for a change.

which old witch, the wolfowitz....

You know at this point the Bush administration is kind of like that part of all action movies where the brave failed scientist, the kid with dead parents, a sexy sexy woman and some kind of talking dog(dems) are facing the overwhelmingly evil guy with a bad haircut(reps) who wants to destroy the world in flamboyant fashion. Part of you wants the scrappy upstarts to save the world, but the other part, the better part, wants them to fail, because, you know, destruction is fun.

I sure hope, like the death of annoying hate mongering bigots (I'm eagerly awaiting #s 2 and 3... Pat, how are you feeling? Here Fred, have another Big Mac), that political asshats resign in threes.

My only concern at this point is, how much freaking $$ did they give him in order to convince him to "resign"?

Last I heard 375k. Not to shabby for getting caught paying a girl to fuck you with promotions and raises.

He gets a $400,000 bonus on June 1.

Hence the resignation effective June 30.

He's staying just long enough to make sure the bonus check clears.

Indeed, the devil is in the details--this is a win for Wolfie, as he got ALL his demands in the negotiations for the terms of his resignation. Does anyone doubt theres a cushy corporate job waiting for him, one with just as much power but far less public scrutiny?

I concur with Andy.
