Does anyone know what the fuck happened to Sarah Silverman last night? She was billed as the host, but she spent all of 5 minutes total on the stage all night introducing only Citizen Cope and The Long Winters. Super lame.

@1 beat me to the punch. Don't bill someone as the host if we get them for all of 3 lines. Generally, doesn't an MC introduce all the artists? She intro'd Long Winters and Manu Chao, then disappeared again.

Jason, that is some funny shit :)

You have an awesome blog
Look at My Neck! Menstruate for Peace!
with a touch of class:
“Changing the date merely to create three-day weekends has undermined the very meaning of the day. No doubt, this has contributed greatly to the general public’s nonchalant observance of Memorial Day.” — VFW

Surprised that people go to music festivals to see the person introducing the bands. Any feedback on the music?

The string quartet during the contra- dancing at Folklife was spot on. I'd guess it was a mixture of Irish jig mountain fiddlin sort of thing. It provided a nice backdrop where my only thoughts were about the people I was with. And with contra-dancing, that means arm and hand with ALOT of different people.

Also, up above, didn't mean to imply that The Stranger blog doesn't have class. The cover story by the Maine artist last week was great reading/viewing; I kinda wish it had been slogged about, or did I miss the post?

The Polyphonic Spree puts on an amazing live show. My favorite by far. They only played part of their set on the mainstage but kindly put on an afterhours show which ROCKED.

Other standouts: Bad Brains, Manu Chao, Bjork, The Hold Steady, Beastie Boys, Minus the Bear, Interpol.

I also want to know what happened to Sarah Silverman. I didn't see her once. Being billed second for each day is a big deal.

I don't go to festivals to watch regional bands (which there were ALOT this year), because obviously I can see them anytime. So when an artist like Sarah Silverman doesn't perform, I'd like to know why. Because if she doesn't, then I'd rather see bigger bands.
