I usually want to punch idiots who say fuck the police, but seriously fuck these guys. And fuck the chief. Anyone with half a brain can watch the video and see the officers a couple of crooked liars.

What is so hard about public accountability for the police in this town?

No chief, it's not a recollection problem, it's a making shit up to justify harassment problem.

"But the chief characterized the officers as having a recall problem when they were interviewed as part of the investigation."

Yeah, from all the damn confiscated pot they're smoking

Jury service UK -

Jury member A: "The police say that happenened, so it must be true!"

Jury Member B (Me) "Crap!"

Twelve hours later -

Jury member A: "It looks like he was framed"

Jury Member B (me) "I think you have a good point there."

10 minutes later, innocent verdict, we all go home happy.

"Recall problem." Who's surprised that they used this line when caught in a lie? It sounds like they're just taking their cues from Alberto Gonzales. I don't know why we don't hire public officials with more cognitive capacity...

The actual incident - bad behavior

Deleting the emails - major intentional systematic cover-up. And idiotic to boot.

Gout? Who the Hell gets gout in this day-and-age? Isn't that one of those obsolete ailments, like goiters or dropsy, that disappeared about the time sulfa drugs and vitamin supplements came on the scene?

No, actually. One can be genetically disposed to have gout, although a diet rich in meats and alcohol certainly helps exacerbate it.
