YEAH!! Tolls on Washington Roads!! It is about fucking time. Maybe some of those gas guzzling drivers will push for better transit options. But they will probably just have Tim Eyman sue the state for even thinking of charging a toll. You know, if the state charges a toll, the terrorists will win!

$6 seems steep for a toll. I guess I'm still used to shithole Florida.

I remove those cards from airplanes all the time and have a small collection in my office at work. Like anybody is going to survive the crash in the first place.

No problem. I'll just leave a little earlier and take I-90 or drive around the lake.

Actually, people do survive airplane crashes. Taking the cards out of the planes is pretty stupid and meansprited. You may fly all the time, but there are still first time flyers out there who follow along.

a couple more big stories from this morning..

This lady died when the Electric company turned off her electriciy over $122 late payment. They were told she needed her oxygen pump to survive. Two hours later, she died. She was 44 years old: http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/05/29/nz.lifesupport.ap/index.html?eref=rss_topstories

or this local story where a 17 year old boy who was babysitting a 9 month old boy is being charged with raping the baby. http://www.komotv.com/news/local/7744402.html

Re: Plame - do we now, FINALLY, have something real and concrete to hang an impeachment charge on? Not that it will ever happen, but ...

Female voice: The white zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the red zone.

Male voice: The red zone is for loading and unloading of passengers only. There is no stopping in the white zone.

Female: No, the WHITE zone is for loading and unloading of passengers and there's not stopping in the RED zone.

Male: Look Betty, don't start with your "white zone" shit again.

Female: Oh really Vernon? Why pretend? We both know what this is really about. You want me to have an abortion.

how does the state of washington even generate tax revenues. being from california where there is not only a state income tax but also a sales tax, and property taxes plus toll bridges, how does washington even begin to generate enough money to pay for things?

$6.00 toll would be awesome! No more broken down junkers falling apart on the high-rise. The road would be open and clear for those who choose to pay while the riffraff fight their way across I-90, around the lake or take their chances on public transportation. Can't wait! ($10.00 would be better.)

This Valerie Plame scandal is packed with disingenuous people on all sides.

Ms. Plame may have been covert, but it was well known in beltway society that she worked at the CIA.

Soon after, Joe and her were featured on a Salon magazine spread. Her “exposure” is the best thing that happened to them. They are the toast of the town (now in Santa Fe).

All along, special prosecutor Fitzgerald knew that Richard Armitage was the one who leaked it to Bob Novak, yet he kept on his unethical investigation.

Joe Wilson’s report about Saddam’s attempt to get Uranium from Niger did not prove otherwise. Then he goes to the New York Times to blame the White House about false accusations that he did not disprove.

Now we have Scooter Libby facing prison time for perjury about something he did not need to lie about – because Fitzgerald KNEW ALL ALONG WHO LEAKED MS. PLAME’S “COVERT” STATUS.

Just because we all hate the Bush administration, doesn’t mean that we shouldn't look at this case objectively.

Not long after Ms. Plame was exposed

They better toll I-90 too, or the whole thing will be pointless.

Anyone read the TB story? I also heard it on NPR, it is amazing to me that after this guy was told that he had a drug resistant strain of TB, that he needed to quarantined and was put on a non-fly list, he decides his well being is worth exposing Europe to a drug resistant strain of TB. You know, the most deadly human disease in history.

Not mentioned in the on-line story but was on NPR, is the CDC was planning on chartering him a private plane back to the US. Which he would have found out if we went into quarantine instead of infecting Europe.

I don't see much difference between this man's actions and having unprotected sex after being diagnosed with HIV. What a fucking asshole.

Yup, heard about the TB story.

But in buried news, it was admitted that the only reason President Cheney was not charged with Treason (the formal charge) in the Plame case was due to Libby's lying - it's in the Washington Post.
