Iraq: A failed state, because the florists missed the call 4 years ago and did not have the populace lining the streets tossing roses and gardenias at the victorious heroes, who removed the yoke of Saddam from their weary shoulders.

Your line "Fourteen Years For Telling The Truth" is misleading. The Navy lawyer faced a possible sentence of fourteen years, but the court-martial recommended only six months' imprisonment (and a discharge). It also recommended he receive pay and benefits during that time. In light of the potential sentence, that seems pretty minor, and probably says something about how guilty the jury thought this guy really was. Also, consider that the defendant apologized for it and said "The prosecutors were right" (although he didn't say that in court). In any event, the whole thing is more complex than your headline would indicate.

The article regarding China is about hand, foot, and mouth disease, a disease which affects humans, not foot and mouth disease, a disease that primarily affects livestock.

I’m sure that Navy lawyer will have plenty of time to think of ways to apologize to Dear Leader for spilling the prisoners’ names while his genitals are being electrocuted at Gitmo.

Seig heil Bush!
