The IHT article also says:

Congress' approval rating this week was 10 points higher than a year ago, when Republicans were in control.

But still, people are right to be as frustrated as they are with Congress. They are in a position to make major pushes on so many issues, and yet they dawdle. How about standing up for habeas corpus? Any day now would be nice.

If you read the story, the law under consideration prohibits renting only to illegal immigrants. As they are "illegal", it must be the case that there are already laws prohibiting these same people from being in the country at all! Why not call attention instead to this greater injustice?!

Seriously, I have to ask-- what fucking brain disorder is it that keeps some people from being able to parse the difference between "immigrants" and "illegal immigrants"?
