the combined weight of the rider & his bicylcle endanger the footings of this historic & vital bridge. this sort of selfish flouting of rules is so typical, & is why automobile drivers are completely justified in hitting, maiming, and/or killing seattle bicyclists wherever & whenever they can, conciously or not. and this goes for fat pedestrians, too. how dare they! harumpf!
Fascinating photo, Dan.
I hope it is not supposed to prove any particular point except, perhaps, that the news reports are correct and that the University Bridge is closed to cars.
I think his point is that if the 97% of Seattle workers who drive were vaporized off of the Earth, commuting for the remaining 3% would be very pleasant. Until lunchtime, when they would start to starve to death, of course.
I might have a little chip on my shoulder this morning. Yesterday I had to dodge the mirror of a passing truck, whose driver yelled "Get off the road, faggot! I'll run over you and you'll die!" Then, coming home from grocery shopping on 1st, I was hit by a car pulling out from a parking spot.
So, yeah. Tell me about this dangerous bicycle commuter.
it's pretty awesome when i can walk down 45th faster than all the single occupancy vehicles that are clogging the streets up. i wish the u bridge were closed to cars everyday!
i just took a giant dump. i feel great. im about to go out on a bike ride, but i think ill wack off while looking at my new mannequin roomate "marla" before heading out

I think there is little justifcation for drivers hitting, maiming, AND killing Seattle bicyclists.
@7 - darned straight it would.
Dangerous? Care to elaborate?
(if you have to explain it, it's not funny...)

Hmm, anyone for blowing up the water main under some more bridges?
Well, if 97% of Seattle workers were vaporized off the Earth, they'd probably take the city's economy and all its jobs with them.
