Slog - Comments on Port Watch http://slog.thestranger.com/2007/05/port_watch_3 I called the Port of Seattle yesterday with some questions about the pending investigation into the Pat Davis/Mic Dinsmore severance scandal. I left a voice mail with Port spokesman Mick Shultz, and he called back with a voice mail saying I should e-mail my questions. However, after sending off the questions, it seemed like a silly way of getting the info. So, I sent off a follow-up e-mail. I realize Dan and Josh are not the same person, but it seems rather petulant to have Slog posts blasting Turnbull for wanting to talk via phone, and then a week later blasting Schultz for wanting to use email. Who knows, perhaps Schultz reads Slog and thought email was the correct choice?

If he took all of your questions at once, went and did research, he could send you a coherent reply, instead of taking each question one by one and having to respond to them on the fly.

I don't know... that's just what I would do. Maybe, after he's replied with the answers to your questions, he'd be up for a phone interview for clarification purposes.

I HATE being asked questions on the phone, because I can't think clearly on the phone. It's like a pop quiz I haven't studied for every time. In writing, I have a chance to actually THINK about the questions and give a thought-out response.

Maybe he also prefers to conduct this sort of business in writing. Not everyone conducts business on the telephone.
