I would like you to discuss why KUOW is on Slog's enemies list.

Why hasn't there been more of an investigation into the role of Dave Reichert and Doc Hastings in the firing of the 9 US Attorneys?

That it's high time to get rid of the taxi medallion system in its entirety. Taxis can still be licensed -- like restaurants, hair salons, bars, drivers, and a slew of other things -- without any arbitrary cap on how many can operate.

How about you discuss what you need to get a fucking permanent seat on the news roundup. The collegiality among the three regulars is so smarmy it makes me wanna fucking puke.

I want to hear about, oh, what he hell the Governor really has in mind for the viaduct. I don't trust her to follow through with the surface-transit option. There's been some talk about it again recently, but I'd like an update and clarifications on where everything stands right now. Thanks.

Why don't you explain how KUOW rates as an enemy of SLOG....

Wich Scinece is truth and wich is lies. It seems all these days it health finds outdoing other health finds. One day beers good for you. The next day its bad. You wathc the news and its don't do this, but seconds ago on another channel a Science channel the discuss how that finding is not true. The media blasts us from all angles with up and down findings and its getting to a point people are graspin at staws of what to believe.
Take the debate about HPV and the Global warming and you see that the debate goes on and on because no one science agrees how bad or good anything is. I mention this because as soon as I open the MSN main page it has a million contradictory health facts and marriage facts, and on and on. Today its Alchohol will give you a stroke in big bold headlines. Tomoorow its going to be benificial. Who are these health gurus who keep dishing out this stuff everyweek on the net and T.V. news. Its enough to give me a stroke keepin up with it all. I miss the days of an apple a day will keep the doctor away and now its too many apples can kill you.

jeesh sorry I was in a rush time to get some sleep. The first sentence is Which Scinece is truth and which Science is lies. With so many "professional quacks' who do you believe. And The church has all that faith stuff and maybe Science needs to just agree and have faith in its own findings. Stop shoving fear and lies down our brains. I read medical journals and I know whats bad for you and how to keep a healthy life. Then when I follow the rules its like some other health nut says that was all wrong, and I feel I just waste my time trying to stay healthy. I'm now like fuck it, I am not going to live in a buble and if I drink a 6 pack a day so what. Science overload makes me want to drink and be bad to myself.lol

"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world – the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man." -George Bernard Shaw, Man and Superman (1903)
There I dont feel so stupid now. I can sleep better now. that was from Ralph Naders website as I surfed through KUOWs allies and weblinks.

--what Deacon Seattle said. I heard a teaser for a KUOW story yesterday that I unfortunately wasn't able to listen to about how Gregoire wanted to make it clear to Seattle voters that she doesn't favor a surface transit option. Oh really, Guv? Well, f*ck you, too.

--also, what Gitai said. I usually can't stand to listen to those farts. Every time you're there, you're like the only sentient being in the building.

How about the govenor's *general* anti-Seattle attitude ever since she was (barely) elected? She spends almost no time in Seattle compared to other parts of the state, and she supports initiatives that Seattleites are against. Yet, metro Seattle has over half Washington's population and Seattle money helped elect her--what gives?

How about a little exposure for Hutcherson (the "US envoy" business, and rent at whatever highschool his church is at), I haven't heard anything about that for a while.

Yes at 1 and 7 - Why are they enemies of slog? Also does Susan Paynter have tourettes syndrome? She is constantly giggling and chuckling at the most inappropriate times ("well I mean only 100 civilians died in Iraq yesterday - tee hee hee hee ha ha")

#1: why can't i listen to NPR anymore without thinking they're a bunch of sell out corporate whores who serve the same function as cable news? that is, to provide cover & legitimacy to a conservative, corporate agenda while limiting debate to centrist platitudes.

they're the Ed Schultz of the MSM.

and why is gregoire such a whore for a rebuild?

she should have to spend a day outside on the waterfront, say at the crap waterfront park's "free speech zone", enjoying the sights (fat tourists), smells (bums, grease), and sounds (non-stop jet plane level racket bouncing off the upper deck so you can't hear yourself think).

It seems like the Stranger is the kid going to meet their estranged eccentric mother for the first time.
Or it is the other way around and Kuow is the kid meeting the eccentric father for the first time.
Reunions are so nice.

Posted by summertime | May 11, 2007 9:25 AM

And I have always wondered is KUOW an enemy to the Stranger the same reason as it is an enemy to Micheal Savage. He hates that radio station so much his vitrol about it sounds like he is going to have a stroke on air.
"Kuow is a bunch of liberals who care only about the Terroists." you hear him everyday say that. Whats the Strangers take.

Posted by summertime | May 11, 2007 9:30 AM
25

Summertime: "you hear him everyday say that".

No; I've NEVER heard him say that. Because I DON'T LISTEN TO MICHAEL SAVAGE. Numbskull.

Why would Michael Savage even have an opinion of KUOW?

And what's up with slog today? Is everyone playing in the volcanafountain across the street?

I surf the radio when I'm driving and i like to bounce between talk radio stations. I don't hear him everday say that but everytime i surfed across his airwaves I happened upon this rant he has about KUOW. Lighten up.
I like to hear what he says so what.
Doesn't mean i agree with him. Sometimes I wish I could call him from my car and give him my 2 cents, but I don't. because I like to hear other callerts give him shit and send him into hysterics. Its funny and a sick bored enjoyment while I'm on may way to and from business.

@14 - oh, so you hate the fact that the Gov's looking out for Ballard, West Seattle, and her peeps in Fremont, Queen Anne, and Georgetown?

Tough. She's ours. Follow the donation trail and you'll see why.

Regarding the Governor, David Brewster had an insightful article at Crosscut a few weeks ago about the viaduct, including this excerpt:

"The Gregoire maneuver cost her among many Seattle interests, and it indicated how much she remains caught in an Olympia mindset, which sees transportation as a highway issue, while Seattle is increasingly seeing urban transportation as weaning-from-highways. Gregoire compounds this problem by having few people on her top staff, aside from Ron Judd, who really "get" Seattle."

1. The mess at KOMO TV in which 3 reporters were fired for agreeing to be union reps. KOMO's new news director is from Fox TV. Does that explain everything. One of the fired reporters is a single mother of 3. What the hell is going on in this otherwise "nice" TV news market.

2. who are the governor's top aides and what do they do that matters at all? Where can you find out about these people?
