I glorified God by saying "thank GOD" to myself when I saw he had died while flipping past CNN :P

Hutch,

He's gone to the same place you're going, and it's hot... real hot.

Jerry is learning that you reap what you sow. Oh babe, and he is reaping it for ETERNITY!!!

Gee, I wish hell did exist but for us atheists he will just rot in the ground and worms will feast on his bloated blubbery form. And you know what? That is a fitting end for him.

I hope somebody digs him up and smokes him. Holy shit, I should!

Original Andrew @ 2: How very sad that you would take joy in someone's death and be gleeful of the torment that is hell....where will you be going on that fateful day you breathe your last breath? Are you sure? If not, perhaps you should spend some time with the Lord and come to know His Son, Jesus, as your personal savior.

I, for one, am not pleased if only because 1) when assholes die, everyone puts the gloves on and gets nicey (remember all the revisionist worship heaped upon Ronald Reagan) and 2) most of the time Falwell opened his stupid mouth he made Fundamentalist Xtianity look as stupid and racist and sexist as it is at its core (see how Robertson hurts religious conservatism every time he points to a hurricane as God's wrath or supports assassinating Castro). I personally was hoping he'd go into a coma and his family would have to revisit the whole Terry Schaivo controversy from a whole new personal perspective...

At least we'll no longer have to see that smug fucking smile. He was an evil, evil man and I'm glad he's gone.

As opposed as I was to Jerry Falwell's beliefs and actions, I can find no joy in his death, just as I could not for any other creature on this planet. Yet another person has died today. It is a necessary part of life, but it is still regrettable. I can only hope that, in death, Mr. Falwell finds the peace that he so lacked in his zealotry-filled life.

I pray that the Lord will soon call home many more of his bigoted little soldiers: Dobson, Robertson and their loyal little lap dog Hutch.

Justy @ 9 - not that I will speak for them, but as for myself (and those you listed) KNOW where we are going on that day? As I posed earlier - do you? For your sake, I hope so.

I find comfort in his death. I'm not dancing for joy, but I like it when self proclaimed kings, politicos and demagogues succumb to death. It's the great equalizer.

As for the sanctity of human life, people die all the time. It wasn't like he was murdered or died "before his time." Besides, the bastard would not have wished any of his enemies a peaceful death- remember, this is the guy who said feminists and gays caused 9/11. Fuck him, even in death.

I pray that God will soon punish more of those who take Her name in vain, like Jerry did.

What the HELL is a "prayer warrior"?
Is that another name for a religious terrorist?

Okay, you can have Tammy Faye in the betting pool to be the next to go, but you have to pay heavy odds.

No one know for sure what the afterlife is or is not like and anyone who says otherwise is delusional. Fantasical books, and salvia aside.

As for Falwell, I feel the same way about his as when some nitwit like Hitler, Saddam, or Mohammed Omar dies. Good riddens the world is better of without them.

@15 A prayer warrior is like that freaky woman Marguerite who was on the Fox Wife Swap show that went around screaming "Dark Sided" if she thought something was evil. Just another mindless lamb that will blindly follow the word of a freak behind a pulpit. Just hope and pray that Falwell was reincarnated as the gayest drag queen that the 21st century has yet to see and that he will have some kind of recall about his past life. It would only be fitting.

This is the first time EVER, including other stupid celebrity deaths like Anna Nicole Smith's, that I've looked at a news-related site, saw "_____ died today," and said out loud, "COOL!"

joey the girl @ 17 - oops, you're right, I thought this was Christianity Today. my bad...

josh @ 20 - there's that love again. come on, I thought we were in agreement, it's all about Jesus

Might Dr, Jerry Falwell was never about Jesus.

It is NOT regrettable when vermin such as Falwell die.

Such humans are not worthy of the name.

fuck smoking the fucker, haven't you heard? Chopping lines of the deceased is the way to go!

That said, wouldn't bother meself unless the quantity of chemicals to total mass was signifigant. Something tells me Jerriy's habits wouldn't do shit fer me...
