Keeping the Peace

An eleven year old German girl hung a sign from her window reading “Help! Please call the police!” When a passerby headed her plea, the police arrived to discover the torture she was facing: the girl had been asked to clean her room.

Wish I’d thought of that.

I'd prefer the police show up at a house where a girl is NOT being tortured than ignore the plea of a child who IS being tortured.

Agreed with Dee: the passerby and the police were exactly correct in their actions. Then again, I doubt anybody would disagree.

However, if that were my daughter, she'd lose window priviledges for two weeks over a stunt like that.

Is it "heeded"?

@3- Van Wing is getting in the spirit of European football as if the plea/ball was deflected (headed) to the police. Goal! For the little girl and Sage! Uberrascht!

Heeded means "paid attention to"

That child should be beaten. Hard.

Sam,

Wouldn't that sort of - um, justify her original plea for help?
