It's great when stating the FUCKING OBVIOUS is news.

Seriously, wars are between states, with declarations and whatnot. We won the war. We fucked the reconstruction.

Webb/Kucinich would be my choice, or maybe vice-versa.

Hillary & Obama-o-rama are dreadful media concoctions, for More of the Same.

why dont they make him the spokesperson for this? i'm so afraid that the dems are going to cave in to the president. like "we made a statement but we can't keep the money from the troops" that's why we ended up with 8 years of W.

Webb for President? You're talking about Republican lite.

I appreciate he jumped parties. But he's pretty conservative, from a fairly (albeit changing) state. Plus, his mouth makes Howard Dean look quiet.

There are some good attributes to Webb. But he ran on one issue- Iraq. Outside of military experience and a stint as an Prez appointee at the Pentagon, there's nothing policy wise under his shell in my opinion.

You might want to find out more about Webb, if you think the war is all he's been talking about. Read his recent WSJ article on the economy. One of the big planks in his platform is economic fairness. He's also doing a lot of work in the issue of incarceration in America. I think you'll find Webb out there leading the fight on a lot of progressive issues.

Jim Webb is a very complex, intelligent man who has a lot of good ideas outside the problems facing us in Iraq. As for him being Republican lite--nothing could be further from the truth. Sure he's a 2nd Ammendment guy, but a lot of us life long Democrats are OK with the 2nd Amendment.

I know someone who was friends with Webb's daughter when they were kids. She says he's a real asshole in real life. He also called their house, I think a couple years ago, and left a really nasty voice mail message because he thought my friend's brother was driving too fast in his neighborhood or something like that (I don't remember that well what she told me; it was back when she was convincing me to vote against Webb for the Democratic nomination).
