“In Positions Indicative of Intercourse or Other Sex Acts…”

posted by on May 7 at 10:43 AM

Let us go back to a more innocent time, when the idea of girly magazines on bookstore shelves was worthy of hysterical instructional films.

Amazing alliteration...

"...once a person is perverted, it is practically impossible for that person..."

George Putnam is like the Tennyson of anti-porn instructional films.

He makes a good case you guys. I mean, how many blind people have you known who look at porn? And I have heard that the breast fetish is almost as prevalent among straight men as the naked lady fetish, and equally perverted. These magazine play off of that perversion.

One thing that stands out is the idea that sex is God given. In some ways that's much more positive than the lessons that current Christianity foists on kids, that sex is dirty. Of course, the idea that sex is dirty is what makes all that porn hot.

I think that video caused me to develop a magenta rectangle fetish.

Does anyone know a good shop in town that sells this kind of vintage smut?

Wow...this thing is from 1965. One would think it was from the 50s. But then again, it's George Putnam who was always 10-20 years behind the curve. He was a newscaster/commentator on KTLA (I think it was) in LA back when KTLA was the flagship station for Golden West Broadcasting - owned by none other than the singin' cowboy, Gene Autry. The station was a Republican mouthpiece back when LA was a Republican stronghold (but it used to have wonderful late movies all night long - the days before the infomercial). Most people thought Putnam was ridiculous. He was thought to be the inspiration for Ted Baxter on Mary Tyler Moore.

I'd like to go back in time and walk in that studio and slap him upside the head with a rolled up 2007 issue of Hustler magazine and say
"WTF do you think of that? asshole."
"pervs won the war nutjob."
