Christianists are the ultimate narcissists. It sounds kind of like the boasting of terrorists about spilling blood of american children in america, blah, blah, blah...

In other words, a Christianist third party would be about as popular as David Duke was a few years back.

Does this mean that Pat Robertson might run for President again? That would be funny...and sad.

Watch for Fred Thompson. He is more liked amongst the hard core Christians and could steal the nomination. He is expected to announce in July

Oh, PLEASE let there be a Christian third party, not Robertson but someone with a few shreds of credibility left. Slam dunk for the Dems, might even kill off the Republican Party for good if they go below 25%.

well, a third party might move america away from the two-party system.

i wouldn't be surprised if many moderate dems and moderate reps took a median party. that mainstream party might even be more popular. both parties are split on many issues that a median party might pick up.

but the reps are smarter than that. they know from perot and nader that a third party doesn't win, they just steal votes -- and the won't let so much of their base drift away. if they do... as mentioned above, the dems will win.

If a Giuliani nomination would cleave the Christianists from the party, I'm all for it.

Oh man, that would be so sweet! Please let it be so.

well, in the long run such a party might move america away from the two party system.

and i think there are many "moderate" dems and reps that might gravitate towards such a party. both sides are split on some issues (war, gay rights, etc...) and a median party might do well.

that said, the reps in power might be smart enough to have learned from perot and nader. they most likely know that while a third party won't win, they do take votes, something they will work very hard against.

there already is a party of god. It's called Hamas (or Hezbolah, or something like that).

America is very comfortable with a two party system. Third parties in America serve a protest purpose only. If the christianists form a third party it will make a lot of noise for an election cycle or two but ultimately go nowhere, just like every third party that came since the Republican Party was founded.

I'm in favor of anything that helps abolish the two-party system.

Quick! Get all your Democrat friends who live in states with early primary's to register as Republican's immediately so they can vote for Rudy in the primary!!!

If he wins the nomination and the Christian Right runs a third party candidate we are going to take back the White House. And for fuck sake...Ruth Bader Ginsburg can't hold on forever. And there is always the chance the Scalia will drop dead with Hillary or Obama is the House!

Okay, so call and email all of your Dem friends in states with early primary's now. Guiliani - Republican Nomination for Pres - 08!

Yeah, right. No one would vote for a Red nowadays. Better dead than Red.
