Never. They don't have the death penalty in Canada. He's only accused of killing around 25 women but he claims it was closer to 50.
why did the pigs not eat the extremities?
It's too bad that he can only die once.
No death penalty here (in Canada). He'll probably be declared a dangerous offender and kept incarcerated for life. This case is only 6 of the murders he's accused of. The other 20 are to follow. There were more remains found there, but they're only bringing cases that they have enough evidence to try him on.
I don't know what the heck they're going to do about the jurors, though. They barely even have alternates, given how long the trial is supposed to go on. I know it's horrific, but the evidence is only going to get worse. Here's hoping they're getting good shrinks.
He should be dismembered joint by joint, starting with his toes. Medical workers should be on hand to keep him alive and conscious as long as possible.
I guess I'm opposed to the death penalty, but man there sure are instances where it seems appropriate.
I'm glad we don't have to listen to a lot of this crap on Canadian TV. They mention the trial on the news from time to time but unlike our horrific American press we're spared the daily blow-by-blow analysis of everything he did, and people like Nancy Grace *shivers*. But we get most of the American channels here so I suppose if you were looking for it you could find it.
As far as the death penalty goes Charles...please. Killing people who have committed horrible crimes is giving them the easiest sentence possible. Forcing them to live with what they've done for the rest of their lives is what is hard. Death is easy, you don't have to do anything.
JessB,
Your opposition of the death penalty presumes that people like this killer will feel remorse. For him to kill so many in such a calculated and repetitive way certainly suggests the contrary.
JessB,
You are right, only if they are given a painless death. He should be stripped naked, dipped in honey, and ripped apart by Grizzlies.
Makes Ted Bundy seem a little bit sane...
Dress him up like Uncle Sam and leave him somewhere in Kabul.
lol Elswinger you may be right.
anonymous: whether or not he feels remorse is irrelevant. Life is still hard and I imagine his roommates at the penitentiary won't make it very comfortable for him. Death is still easy.
Yeah, death would certainly be be easier than what this @$$hole is going to get - a life in solitary; or not in solitary, with daily reamings by incarcerated friends or relatives of his victims.
