It's nice to see that everybody is glad he's dead. We won't see swift responses like this until Phelps is maggot food.
It doesn't look like much work will be getting done today at Stranger HQ.
You need to hold a contest. The best depiction of Falwell suffering in hell wins a hundred bucks or a trip to Vegas or something.
Robertson:
My wife and I have sent our condolences to Macel Falwell and her family. Jerry has been a tower of strength on many of the moral issues which have confronted our nation. Liberty University is a magnificent accomplishment and will prove a lasting legacy. Jerry’s courage and strength of convictions will be sadly missed in this time of increasing moral relativism. I join with the tens of thousands of his friends to mourn the passing of this extraordinary human being.
Is it not-so-odd to anyone else that Falwell's university is in Lynchburg?

Was Falwell the real-world Peter Griffin? Or vice versa?
Falwell roasting on an open fire.
Satan glad to see his knave.
God is just glad she's rid of him.
And it's Christmastime for the brave!
Romney:
"An American who built and led a movement based on strong principles and strong faith has left us. He will be greatly missed, but the legacy of his important work will continue through his many ministries where he put his faith into action. Ann and I have had the honor to talk and meet with Reverend Falwell and get to know him as a man of deep personal faith and commitment to helping those around him. He will be forever remembered."
Will The Stranger be hosting a party tonight?
McCain once called Falwell "an agent of intolerance."
And here's McCain on Falwell's falling today:
"I join the students, faculty, and staff of Liberty University and Americans of all faiths in mourning the loss of Reverend Jerry Falwell.
"Dr. Falwell was a man of distinguished accomplishment who devoted his life to serving his faith and country.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Falwell's family at this difficult time."

Flip Flip Flippity Flop Flop And Ya Don't Stop
@10 - did you expect him - or any politician - to openly dance on the greasy fuck's grave? Public officials generally feel obliged to show some class, unlike you and I, who are free to say what everyone's really thinking.
He, being McCain, could have just said NOTHING, #11. There is no mandate that states you have to put out a public statement when someone dies. McCain's statement is just a pandering to the far Right, as usual these days.
Not my own original thought but I agree... I'm glad Tammy Faye outlived him.
Love thine enemies.
At lunch I mentioned to a guy I work with that Jerry Fallwell was dead. He had never heard of him, and he's 31 and grew up in Oakland. I almost envy his ignorance.
