In a nutshell: Someone sprayed racist graffiti on the local Mid East restaurant and our gal is hired to investigate, so far so good. Veronica finds the cracker who is then confronted by the owners of the restaurant. They give him a sanctimonious speech about what America® means to them then let bygones, etc.

Turns out the cracker was pissed about his brother coming home from Iraq a paraplegic and the restaurant’s illegal immigrant busboy, Nasir, handing out an “anti-American” cartoon at the mall depicting US Troops entering Iraq and coming back in coffins. Um, that’s not anti-American, that’s a fact of life backed up by daily death tolls.

Well the owners of the Mid East restaurant are all American® now and shit, so they rat out Nasir to the ICE and he’s arrested then presumably shipped off to Guantanamo Bay to be fitted with his own CIA-approved, electrified butt plug.

So what was the point of this ep? That you’re not a real American if you don’t approve of US invasions and occupations (like I said, heavy duty for a Veronica Mars ep).

Am I way off the mark, or did VM jump the jingoism shark?
