Maybe I'm dense, but why is it weird that police haven't determined (or disclosed) whether this is a suicide or a homicide?

I would think not being sure one way or the other within 12 hours of discovering the body would be pretty common in cases like this.

Did anyone die in yesterday's fire down off Rainier? About 20 red firetrucks went screeching past as we were having lunch at The Silver Fork. Being the interns we are, we checked it out - 22 trucks! Mattress thrown out of window (smoking in bed?)! Channel 7 & 4 interns "hot" on the tip may have been airlifted down by the choppers! Interviews! Were my legs on the tvnews?

@2 – During a serious fire, firefighters generally throw all the flammable stuff out of a burning building to deprive the fire of fuel.

They also found a body under the Magnolia Bridge. I hope this isn't the start of a trend.

Well, this is comforting. I've walked through that giant ravine of a park (which is near my place) and I recall thinking, "Man, someone could get capped down here and no one would find out for days...."

It's comforting knowing that people are getting shot withing shouting earshot of your house.

You ate at the Silver Fork? I hear they don't serve white people. Are you black?

@1, it's often assumed that a suicide victim will always have the gun by their side. This isn't always the case, especially in an urban area where people will simply steal the gun from a crime scene and leave without notifying anyone of what they found. There are also a lot of cases where the gun is still there because the killer left it, hoping the murder would be classified as a suicide.

It's like the belief that all suicides leave notes. Most don't.
