This guy has haters? Shocking.

He once called me randomly in the middle of night, sometime around 3.00 AM. Apparently, he had seen my phone number somewhere on the internet and decided to call.

He is a little bit nuts, and more than a little bit shallow. And he is the very definition of a high maintenance boyfriend. But you know, he has more balls than I had at that age to do his own thing. I was so closeted and so conformist at his age that I enlisted in the military, thinking it would make me straight.

Props to him.

This guy's been spamming my favorite porn site for a long time now. After some time, his narcissism started to seem less like a mere nuisance and more like a full-blown personality disorder. All I can feel is sad about him.

Honestly, I don't think most people "get" Chris. I have watched him for a while now -- met him first on LiveJournal where he posted pictures in the comm artfag and he was ran outta there, but no one would admit... his pictures, even if they are only of himself, were actually pretty gorgeous... even if he was relaying on his pretty.

I like Chris because he is out, honest, funny and because he really does blur that line between reality and performance. You start to notice it... when he's just acting and when he means something. People get in a twist because he is queeny, takes no shit, is out in rural KY, I think... All those messages of self-hate didn't work on him and baby, he's a star!

Also... you gotta love his music videos where he tries to dance like one of the girls in the video. It's hot.

We, for the most part, are readers, not writers. Audience members, not performers.

So no, we don't think we have haters. That might be a common complaint or boast around the Stranger water cooler, or in your interviews with artists and bands and public figures, but out here in plain old boring rest-of-the-world-land, you're not going to find a lot of people moaning about all their haters.

I have to disagree with robotslave. No matter who you are or how insignificant you feel, there will always be someone out there ready to hate you.

mattymatt, I think you deliberately elide the significant difference between having someone somewhere out there ready to hate oneself, and actually having so many vocal, antagonistic observers that one can say one "has haters."

I would never say that most people don't do anything hateworthy, or that people by and large don't hate; I am suggesting, rather, that only public figures, or those with aspirations to fame, are at all likely to think they "have haters," and reflexively use a phrase like "You Think You Have haters...."
