…didn’t we have our first 9/11 after the Republicans won?

Giuliani warns of ‘new 9/11’ if Dems win

Holy shit. What an asshole.

2

He'll NEED another 9/11 after getting smoked in the GOP primary, because that's this guy's whole schtick - after eroding civil rights and standing watch on the decade NY lost its soul, he managed to behave decently on 9/11 - what does he want, a fucking medal?

3

Well... that of course, was All Clinton's Fault(tm)

4

Back in the day, Guilliani used to be a relatively decent Republican (take it easy, I said relatively). I can't believe he's stooping so low these days as to resusitate Karl Rove's fear-mongering campaign slogans. What's worse, the shelf life of that strategy expired long ago. Pathetic.

5

“This war ends when they stop coming here to kill us!”. WTF?!?

6

Disgusting.

7

This campaign season is going to be a nasty one. I'm already fed up with it and we got a long way to go yet. Blech.

8

"Back in the day, Guilliani used to be a relatively decent Republican"

and before that, he used to be a Democrat.

9

He was sort of my favorite Republican way up until he said that.
Clinton/or Obama or Edwards. Now I'm down to three.

10

40 more years.

11

His little parenthetical, "...and I think obviously I would be the best at this..." kills me. Best at siting your emergency command center across the street from a target so juicy it had already been hit once? In the building that was first to collapse, possibly because all the emergency generators were seven floors up instead of in the basement? Best at sending in your rescue teams with inadequate equipment and lacking command and control systems that might have saved their lives by getting them out of the doomed buildings in time? Best at telling 911 operators to tell people to stay where they were instead of trying to evacuate the building? Or just best at learning from your many, many, well documented mistakes?

12

I did not have comprehension with that memo.

13

In 2002 and 2004, the American people asked the Republican'ts to destroy the Taliban and make the world safer; instead they destroyed the Constitutional underpinnings of the republic and made us the most hated imperial power in the world.

Sucking off the powerful to pay for sophisticated marketing to bamboozle the proles is a good way to get elected, but an astonishingly shitty way to govern. Their Islamist monster in the closet shtick won't work anymore

14

"Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US"
--August 6, 2001, Presidential Daily Briefing.

"Bush Determined to Clear Sagebrush"
--August 6, 2001, White House Memo.

15

If there's no pork in the federal budget, then the terrorists have won.

16

next up- 'republican's warn of inevitable holocaust if dem's win. oh- and all of your babies will die of sids, too.'

17

Who was in office when the 9/11 terrorists came to the US? How many times had terrorists attacked American targets during that President's time in office? How many terrorists were captured or killed while that guy was in office?

Bush should also be held accountable for what happened because the terrorists had expired visas and should have been pursued.

The stuff Rudy spits is the same as any other politician. They say stuff they think will get them elected. Maybe it will work and maybe it won't.

Unfortunately, what he says is probably true because today's Democrats do not have the desire to do the things that will protect American civilians from terrorism. Look at the Patriot Act and military action in the middle-east. Both things keep terror attacks from happening in our country and both are totally and completely opposed by the Democrats.

18

Just more republican scare tactics

19

Man I hate those dog-fucking hypocrites. Its bad enough that they ignore that 9/11 happened on good ol' GB's watch, but not they ignore that there was indications of the attack (thanks France for not publicly releasing that).

I can't believe that asshole that wants to reduce the terrist motivation to just 'they hate our freedom'. I thought we got over that? Hey Rudy, do they maybe hate the fact that we messed with them and sold them weapons?

Thank god that Rudy is here to tell me how we are losing civil liberties, we are just attacking terrorism. Too bad its the average American that's the loser. I bet no one is tapping Rudy's phone.

I hope a house lands on him or a girl with red shoes splashes him with water.

Oh yeah, elephant_in_the_room? We are safer because we are creating a whole new generation of Jihadists?

We are safer because we have kill 20k+ of civilians? How is the wanton killing of civilians making us any safer?

You know what would make us safer? Put a goddam choke hold on the CIA and stop them pushing anymore psychopaths to power. That just might make a difference. Or is the Patriat Act addressing that?

21

Some Guy, do you know anything about the Qur'an? You may want to read some things by Robert Spencer. He takes a very critical look at what is taught and preached in the Qur'an.

Jihadists are created by their belief, not by the actions of the US, Russia, Spain, Britain, or Israel. They really only care about the spread of Islam and the death of infidels. Your view that the US or any of the other victims of their attacks are creating Jihadists is infantile. Do you really believe that if these people were left alone, they wouldn't be doing the things they are doing? If so, then you really don't understand their faith.

Under the tenets of their faith, the spread of Islam takes importance over all else. What makes them so different from Jews or Christians is that their religious text endorses the spread of the faith through war, terror, or any other means. Muslims are not bound to any treaties made with infidels or that hinder the spread of Islam. When they make these deals, the Qur'an teaches them it is proper to break any deals which hinder their ability to spread the word or eliminate infidels. So, are the folks in power in the Middle East psychopaths or just doing as their religion teaches?

The US is safer now because the fighting is taking place on their soil. The Patriot Act has made the US safer because terrorists and would-be terrorists have been caught. The opponents of the Patriot Act cry over the loss of personal freedoms, but I really haven't noticed any loss of freedoms in my everyday life since it has been instituted.
