RSS icon Comments on Vulcan Trolling on 2200 Westlake Blog?

I know for a fact that some of the Stranger writers have aliases that they post with on the SLOG so I basically shrug at this one.

THX! All I know is that Vulcan is a great company to work for and that the new 2200 complex is sweet to the max! Whole Foods is an amazing shopping experience, and the tanning salon is HOT! It is a high-class, truly Seattle landmark in the making!

...and living at 2200 will actually cure cancer.

Hooray, Jonah - you are getting great stories to us. Vulcan is hubris-sational! I love the salespeople who will "try not to sell" to investors. Good luck sticking to that as the market gets weirder each day. Folks who put down a deposit at the other Vulcan snot-pockets going up should ready their lawyers. Abyssus abyssum invocat.

I think that there could be a running article with regards to this. Front page story perhaps? It is interesting that Vulcan etc. didn't return any of your calls.

And to the commenter who states that stranger writers post on their blog anonymously. It is their blog. If Vulcan wants to post anonymous comments then they should start their own Vulcanlife blog and they can post all they want. However to post anonymously on a condominiums blog pretending to be a resident after already reaping HUGE profits is a shameful thing.

I think that they are just afraid that their overpriced (IMHO) Enso, Rollins and Veer complexes might not sell as well if people have anything negative to say about a building that they have already built.

What does Vulcan care about more? Their customers or their bottom line?

...do you hear that? listen closely:

its the sound of a few miniature violins playing a sad song for those idiots who would pay over a quarter of a million dollars for a studio condo at one of the noisiest and least living-friendly areas of downtown.

It's fucked up that your article features a picture of the Pan Pacific and Whole Foods Market, while you're focusing only on the shit going down with the condos. That's misleading and shitty. The Stranger's disdain for Whole Foods Market continues. It's as transparent as Scotch TapeŽ.

Well, when Whole Foods signs a contract with UFCW, maybe then I'll agree with you Mike.

Look, has Paul Allen done anything right in this town? Every single project he (via Vulcan) has touched is a disaster -- EMP is failing, Qwest Field continues to defraud the state, etc. etc.

The culture he creates at Vulcan is secretive and full of vitriol -- it shouldn't surprise anyone that they'd stoop this low. I'm simply appalled that our fair mayor thinks partnering with this moron and his minions for South Lake Union was a good decision. Plus, a fucking street car? C'mon!

"EMP's not working, let's put in a science fiction museum!" = "Nobody likes the bus, let's put in a street car!"

Blah.

Wow. I just got obsessed with the "Fast Times at 2200 Westlake" blog. The condo owners posting there really are caricatures of themselves. It sounds like most of them thought they'd be living in a 3 bedroom house in the middle of University Village.

A few of the ridiculous complaints:

  • Condo owners complaining about condo renters (who pay $1750+ a month for a studio) ruining the theater room with their wild parties

  • Condo renters complaining about condo owners treating them like shit, even though they have just as much money as the owners

  • Condo owners complaining about condo owners with nicer condos treating them like shit

  • Lack of parking and other cars causing traffic in South Lake Union (shocking!)

  • Against rules to barbecue on private balconies ("how does one entertain friends?")

  • Front door is unlocked for HOURS at a time during construction -- major graffiti and burglary is inevitable!

  • Cornish students across the street look THREATENING

  • Closed-circuit TV viewable from home TV's isn't clear enough! You can't see pictures from the garage -- you have to take the elevator down to make sure your Land Rover is OK!

  • Whole Foods doesn't sell condoms -- you have to drive all the way to Broadway QFC to get any! (Ignore the corner stores nearby -- too many black people)

  • Too many niche shops in the 2200 complex -- green tea store, doggie treat place... (you have to walk, or drive, across the street to get a pedicure!!)

  • You can see the riff-raff homeless from the balcony, bla bla bla...

I don't feel bad for these people at all. Please move back to Bellevue or Laurelhurst. There's nothing for you in an urban environment.

I'm right there with #6, anyone who pays that much money for a condo should pipe it.

Seriously - when has real estate EVER come with a money back guarantee. They bought these places from a new developer site unseen. So we should feel bad for you that you actually have too deal with the same BS we all have to deal with. Why don't you try being nice to the homeless people, your new condo was built over the parking lot they used to sleep in. Look, the fire alarm has gone off in my place 3 times tonight. I've had to walk my fat butt down the stairs and freeze. Yah it sucks, but you just deal with it. Guess it goes too show you money DOESN'T buy happiness.
